No, for many reasons.
For one because that’s NOT a Tinker. You might not care, but there is canonically a class called Tinker / Tinkerer in Warcraft. There has been since WC3 and ironically enough it’s the only Hero class from Warcraft that has not been made into a Class in WoW.
I agree with #1 and #3.
But honestly due to the AR’s #2 might not be the case anymore. Players didn’t want to level from 1 back when we had 100+ levels or what not. Now if you go AR and with 70 probably being the cap of next Expansion. You’d only have to level 60.
It’s not so much the case anymore, not to mention the benefits from leveling an AR primarily being the Heritage armor if you don’t already have them.

In fact, if we get Tinkers, I’ll literally roll one on a server with you and we can start a tinker guild!
I’ve posted at least a dozen threads across 2 accounts asking for Tinkers over the years. And will never pass up a tinker thread without bumping it into the lofty heights that it rightfully deserves.

I want it so bad that I have rolled at least 3 different Goblins JUST to repeat the Shredder Ashenvale prelude quest behind Org just so I can pretend I’m a Tinkerin’.

Shadowlands is the first time I’ve cancelled my subscription since… well, a single month when I was a broke student like a decade and a half ago. A wacky Goblins vs. Gnomes Undermine expansion (or worse, a serious Goblins vs. Gnomes Undermine expansion) would just cause me to check out permanently.
But back to the main topic: there is certainly room for a Tinker playstyle in WoW. It’s just never going to be thematically relevant (or shouldn’t be). Thus, a Hunter spec would be a fantastic idea.

Wait, you would seriously prefer this super-mega-cosmic expansion like Shadowlands that isn’t even related to WarCraft, its races, or its themes Over an Expansion like Undermine, which would probably be goofy, but it would at least be a part of WarCraft?
I Think that ultimately that’s where I have to draw the line.
The Biggest failing of Shadowlands in my opinion is that it doesn’t feel anything like WarCraft. Everything that happens in Shadowlands could have just been its own MMO.
Always felt this is where they really, really dropped the ball with monks.

The lore, icons, abilities, etc are all heavily tied to Pandaren. You’ve got a lot of people out there who might’ve taken an interest in monk-style combat, but who were always turned off by the panda theme. Meanwhile, there were other representations of “monks” already extant in the game for a variety of races. Blizz could have developed their lore, instead of shoehorning all monks into “your class comes from pandas alone”.
you’re not getting another new class. probably ever. They owe us two new classes by now with how long it’s been since demon hunter. even then all they did was rip off demo lock.

Yes, I know. They’re trying to make it a word that cannot be conflated with an epithet for a group of people, but good gravy, just pick another title.
How about “Engineers” or “Machinists” or “Animators” or any number of other evocative terms?
Sigh. I just can’t stand it. Go “Tinkers” or just pick a different class title, imo.

On one hand, I Totally Agree 100%. Tinker is a stupid name.
I would much prefer “Engineer” “Technician” or “Mechgineer”
On the Other Hand though, It was called “Tinker” in WarCraft 3… sooooo…
I Would expect Blizzard to stick to their og name from 2001.
