the fact that people are asking for layer invites in world chat is proof that this layering is being exploited, people are asking to be invited to different layers to avoid pvp, farm mobs, grind rep.

This behavior was never intended by Blizzard. If players are abusing this system to gain an advantage over others then they are exploiting.

Phase 2 is months away. If it’s this bad in the first week and isn’t addressed for months, by the time phase 2 comes we’ll all have quit and moved onto a (more) legitimate vanilla experience on the next private server.

You’ll be sad to know that I have canceled my two accounts. I will not resub unless swift punishment comes. So yes, I WANT TO SEE SOME PUNISHMENT. Really, because it’s the just thing and right. Without reciprocity, good and bad doesn’t mean anything anymore. We get too much of that crap in the real world. I’m not looking to pay for entrance into another just like it. I prefer my fantasy worlds to reward those who put in the effort and punish those who try to exploit. I like to look at the “haves” in game and know that they did it by busting their butts and it feels motivating to put in my own effort. But seeing exploiters de facto rewarded by no action from Blizz takes all the wind out of my sails. All my interest and motivation evaporates. Injustice is done and people defend it, make excuses, and most importantly, the authority of Blizz does nothing but turn a blind eye. I can’t be invested in such an enterprise.

Agreed. I have lost motivation to play.

Economy is one of the most important aspects of an MMO, and in particular, vanilla WoW. I remember fondly gathering herbs and ore, figuring out the market, and using my professions to earn the gold for mounts.

If the economy has suffered rampant duplication exploits ( which lets be real, the consequence of layer exploits is DUPING) which will forever damage economic balance, IM OUT.

If i spend an hour gathering ore without exploits, I would make 10% of what an exploiter makes. I’m not playing that game.

It’s almost tragic.

I don’t understand the people who don’t care. They must be button mashers who will be gone in a few months. I fully intended to park here for the long haul. Would they be fine with cash shops in Classic too? I mean “hOw DoEs It AfFeCt yOu?” This is essentially the same as a play to win cash shop, but it’s only open to those willing to be an exploiter. It ruins the immersion.

Some people have all of their alts full of ultra rare resources and they’re just waiting for the prices to climb after p2 comes out so they never have to farm again.
