Its not complicated, and if you mean the story in DF its uninteresting and the majority of players arent invested in it. Im not in particular a fan of this current expansion but if the story motivates to play but now the story is lacking, im not motivated to do any of the new content. Just old content & PvP

I think the way they handled it with chromie time was genius.
With my alts, when Im tired of dungeon running, I pick one xpac and level thru it all the way, i get to experience every story to the fullest.

No, we don’t. These forums can catch people up for those who want it.
Just make a thread with the “story so far” kind of title and open a discussion about it.
It’s interesting because there’s so many different takes on the simplest of things, but that doesn’t mean anyone/everyone is stupid.
It’s just how life works.
As it is, it’s difficult to write an ongoing story for a game. The smaller, more restricted to specific zone kind of stories are much easier but the overall, arching main storyline is difficult because you always have to have subtlety and nuance for a decent story and that’s really hard to do in this setting.
Still, they do try and often succeed despite what some may say.
Just my 2 cents. Feel free to disagree.
I think you’re confusing poor character development and boring and unimaginative with complicated.

It’s complicated for me. But that’s because I haven’t watched any cinematic or read a single quest. That’s probably why.
So then you’re not saying that
You’re saying WoW has gotten worse at telling its story.

Worse? So you’re saying dragonflight story is trash and worse than shadowlands and maybe even worse than BFA. When many are saying that the story is so much better than previous expansions (plural)

Did you think I meant that each expansion’s story was literally worse than the last? Because I wasn’t even implying that. Of course there’s ups and downs.
