How many of you would quit the game on principle that the story would be so far gone at that point that you actually can’t enjoy the game because of such a poor direction that would be? I’m simply curious.

Wouldn’t quit but I can pressume to say Blizz-Activision is finally meeting it’s downfall through much cringeness,

It would depend on how the story was told. I wouldn’t quit over something like that but it’d be a weird story line to have.

Sylvanas won’t be Warchief again, the writers love her too much, she’ll become the Goddess of Death. Ascension is the only path from here on.

I would consider it, if the gameplay isn’t exactly highly exciting and neither is the gameplay. Then I suffice to say that I would consider it. Especially since the only thing that really kept me here in BFA was for roleplaying. If the story was affected in such a way that it made responding to new developments in the lore as a roleplayer hard I might just do that. But this would probably be with other bad developments as well since I’m a Alliance player thankfully and most of the bad lore in BFA hasn’t effected me.
Speaking of cringe… Why does your character look like Toby McGuire’s Peter Parker after his first taste of Venom??

I’d just switch to alliance. Got a few ally toons at Max and will have Max on both factions every expac

She defeated the Lich King.
The story is already so far gone and messed up.
I don’t play WoW for the story. I stopped caring about the story around the time Argus came out.
So no, I would still play.
But I would be really mad to see her as warchief.
Thankfully it will never happen.

I’d be pretty tilted about it.
I hate her character. Mostly because the writers have sacrificed so much to keep her on her pedestal, and dressed in plot armor.

The fake, weak, Anduin’s step-daddy non-Arthas non-Ner’zhul Lich King, aka not the real Lich King, a fake, boring, place-holder Lich King with no real power in the lore.

You know… I told a friend I would burn my entire WoW collectors edition collection (TBC-BFA +15 year anniversary box) and quit the game forever, though honestly I was maybe being a bit… excessive with that statement.
I think it would certainly be enough to get me to quit WoW though. I doubt I would actually bring myself to destroy almost $1000 (Er, based on purchase price) in Collectors editions. I would be very displeased with WoW as a whole though.
I liked Sylvanas up until the pre-patch for BFA. I do not like how she has been written since, honestly I would go so far as to say they have done a great disservice to such a long standing and iconic character. The way she reached the point she is at now is where I have my problems.
The random power boosts that make no sense, the abrupt heel turn in her conduct and purpose for her actions, going from being a tactician to a head on brute fighter that can literally throw hundreds of tons of saronite with pure physical strength and even rip solid, enchanted, metal apart with her bare hands.
Nothing about her path post Legion makes any sense at all. None of it. Its not good writing. Its like some Dragon Ball Z level of fan fiction at this point. Just the Shadowlands intro cinematic alone disgusts me let alone anything else. Heck, I even made a pretty thorough post in the past on how that Cinematic could have been handled better and more in line with who Sylvanas was as a character before BFA went way off road with it.
For me, there is no redeeming her and any attempt to do so would be extremely hamfisted.

I still don’t see why her defeating the Lich King was a big deal. Bolvar wasn’t Arthas and he didn’t have Frostmourne. Not to mention even before Wrath there was always mentions of the Lich King’s capability to hold control over the scourge was weakening. Maybe the helmet was also getting weaker. Perhaps it was never meant to be used to such capacity outside of the Shadowlands.
