How is it not about skill?
the best gear comes from the msot competitive hardest pvp “content” you have in game (i.e ranked arenas and ranked bgs) so…if you are SKILLED (ye ye i know unbalance issues…broken specs and burst meta…u get my point) you will get the best gear…how is that not about skill?
I feel it is, but why do you need better gear? When the contestant enter the Gladiator arena everything should be equal. All pvp gear should be the same Ilvl.

now that we have a destablized S1 out of the gate start, people who were not imba right out of the gate are facing a far steeper difficulty curve than the imba players. they got out of the gate first and got gear first, now on the climb up you are not only facing a harder opponent because he is OP, but also because he outgears you, doubling the difficulty.
increased ilvl should not be the reward for a higher rating. we don’t give the fastest race cars better parts so they can be even faster the next race, we give them a cash prize.
world pvp has been “dead” and a meme for over 20 years…it has ALWAYS been the least representitive showcase of mechanical skill and gameplay knowledge(this can be shown through SEVERAL examples ill stick to the msot basic one-- the LARGEEEEE majority of "world pvpers will get absolutly rekt 1v1 against the BEST ranked pvprs, not saying a world pvpr wont kill a glad/rank 1 player, but statistically, the best ranked players in the world will win the large majority of the time)
Sure, you can find it fun…but do embrace the fact that other then “fun” it is considered terrible with even worst balance then ranked instanced pvp and overall a giant meme (and it has been so for 14 years)
i mean, no one stoped you from queueing from the get go, so in theory nothing is toping you form getting your gear…only a handfullof players are getting the 220+ pvp gear, and even those are still not full 220 + pvp gear…bellow them there are THOUSANDS of people climbingwith gear that ranges between 184-213 wich is VERY achievable by most people if not all
who cares? this is the bg forum, nobody here is interested in finding out who is the tippity top of the skill tree. you can bring all the R1s you want, i brought a siege cannon with two resource buffs.
I think the aspect of bgs are more fitting, for it’s a total chaos consume scenario, with skirmished clashes on a large map. Arena could almost be like glorified duels, which they are. The players sitting outside the gates of either faction want that "1v1“ apex alpha fulfillment.
Then why do they need better gear?
just because you dont know how to outplay people doesnt mean warrior is bad a 1v1ing
could it be that reality is not the best ranked players win the majority of the time, but that the best geared players win the majority of the time and therefore have the best rank.

Any game that allows “macros” can never and will never be skill based.
you can beat most classes in 1v1s as warrior, just do more damage and outplay them
depends on the macro, i use macros mainly to add a dual functionality to my spells, allowing me to cast at mouseover targets while maintaining melee on my selected target. i have also bound all my pet abilities into my own spells so that i can play and control both my dk and my pet and manage the resources of both.
but yeah, if you are using cast sequence macros and kickbots, there isn’t skill in that.
I cannot say, I have beaten some glad players before 1v1 in bgs I might have gotten the jump or gotten lucky with crits etc. I have never seen an awful Glad player so I cannot submit to that claim. It is however possible, depending on class.
If you are a carried Glad with a decent ability to kite on an last Expac Frost Mage I am sure they could indeed blow people up. On the same note, an awful Glad masked with amazing gear can beat a better player on a lower scale.
I mean PVE geared players are doig right now in BGs, Fighting an Elemental Shaman with 39,000 hp just 2-3 shotting everyone that gets near them.
Warriors have enough utility that fights which would usually be complete wash for them can be won through excellent execution.
I just make mortal strike go brrr and die though.

Some people can’t accept facts. I tried to explain things to this one before but they refuse to listen to reason. 
Warriors are great I am not denying that, but equal geared and equally skilled Monk, Paladin, DK, Rogue, Mage, Priest, Hunter, Shaman will destroy a warrior unless we can pull off some lucky crits in perfectly timed defensives.
