Daisy just said I’m a failure because my win rate is only 65% though.
Sure you are.
Any team with someone in the mid 20Ks is a win. The only teams where losses consistently happen is when both players are over 30K.
I thought it was the rating+ilvl that was called out not the winrate
Either way bgs and arenas are not really comparable
I’m not the one who argues that they are. I argue that they aren’t. I’m turning their argument against them.
Arena, rated BGs and random BGs are all quite different formats of PvP and I consider them as different content. Using success in one to gauge merit in the others is not smart.
Who brought up arenas?
I mean, arena has been brought up constantly in this thread alone. When questioned, your first response was to fall back to a gear disparity issue.
I stand by that comment. But all your arguments against me are attacks. You have no evidence that gear was a factor for my loses. I even said they weren’t. I didn’t blame my loses on the gear. I admitted it was a skill issue.
Some how you know my games better than me, and apparently it isn’t a skill issue. It was a gear one. You make a lot of assumptions about things you don’t know anything about.
But continue on to attack my credibility, I’m quite amused.
I attack what I think are bad arguments. I have zero reason to believe you are a bad player and that isn’t what I’m saying.
You were holding other people to some kind of Pikaboo standard that you didn’t seem to be holding yourself to.
Are you now saying some of your losses were due to a skill issue and not just a gear issue? Agreed, in general, not just for you. Everybody makes mistakes, but one thing I’ve learned in playing this game from vanilla beta and on is that the undergeared side has a much lower margin for error.
I’m sorry, but why did you mention the item level of your partner then? I mean, isn’t that evidence that it did? Unless, you were being dishonest or something. Which is a really strange direction to go.
“We didn’t lose those games because of our bad gear, we lost because we suck!”
Your low gear gives you a smaller margin for error. You might have made mistakes that cost you the match, but a higher geared team can afford to make some mistakes and still win.
I don’t hold people to a pikaboo standard.
I know I can’t replicate the results he does, and the majority of the playerbase doesn’t. It was simply a fact that it’s POSSIBLE. If it’s true for him, it’s true for anyone.
Skill > gear. That’s a FACT. The only time gear is a problem is when you are in gear that isn’t considered competitive.
Now that determination is harder to make as skill levels fluctuate. But we should look at what casuals (who don’t do rated content) and the average ilevel. I say it’s aroud ~195. High rated players maybe ~210. That’s a 15 ilvl difference.
The real question is if the 15 ilvl gap is as large as people make it to seem.
I haven’t seen any proof or single piece of evidence to from anyone in this thread to suggest that it is.
Pikaboo is doing arenas right now on a new WW monk with low gear and still beating like all the higher ilvl teams with random players.
I’m sorry you can’t justify your poor performance as a gear disparity issue.
That is you holding people to a Pikaboo standard.
You are trolling at this point.
So, I ran across Vanguards and a balance druid from his guild in skirmishes the other night. I’d expect to lose that just based on arena experience alone but they both did 8-9K DPS. Their damage was far above anything I’ve seen from players with less gear outside of a geared sub rogue opener.
That was maybe a 12 item level delta.
Have you never seen a high ilvl geared person do pitiful dps? That isn’t evidence. You don’t know if you put a 1300 player in his gear to produce the same results.
If the ilvls were reversed, would you be farming vanguards?
I’m not sure if we are playing the same game but after a certain level of competence people do the same things to output damage just some people do a lot more than others for some reason.
MW is the single handedly worst arena spec in the game rn.
To be fair it was a fresh dinged disc priest, and it was before rogues were nerfed. I didn’t really care I was just helping someone cap.
That would also mean it was before gear gaps were very large.
Which would only further support my claim that gear wasn’t the issue for my arena ratings? Omgosh, you validated my point.
Thank you.
