I completely agree. I think having different tiers of conquest gear which is locked behind rating is dumb. Conquest gear should be static ilvl. I really loved WoD pvp gear and gearing.
But with SL, you are forced to push rating. Using a unranked 200 ilvl conquest set+weapon is simply not competitive against a 226 conquest set+weapon. If Duelists and Gladiators never queued into random BGs it wouldnât matter, but they (and I) do. So you are forced to push rating this expansion if you simply want to stay competitive and on an even playing field. I disagree 100% with this but it is what it is for right now.

I believe their argument is that gear shouldnât be a factor at all, not that they want the best gear.

Iâm standing by gear should be a factor⌠if you arenât able to get the rating, why should they get the gear for that rating. This is why rated content exists⌠hell they can raid or m+ and get some good vers gear.
Hell we just got rid of this stuff⌠and people rejoiced. It should not be coming back.

You remember in WOD balimaos, bellicostco, or anyone from the rbg community. You also remember from random bgs, yagamoth, zeela, and mightycow?
Those were horrible people/groups, and none of them were involved with the current rated system. The truth is that any competitive environment has toxic behavior. Which by the way I havenât really seen anything the guy has stated that is toxic.

These guys would cry if they had interactions with balimos, belle, datacus, abn, etc. Iâm like a saint compared to them as far as the rbg community goes. Everything Iâve posted has solely been to prove that gear is a non factor when skill is not equal. Better players win. My alt priest was sub 170 playing at 2200 mmr. I donât know how else I can prove that point.

Thats my issue, in the past I could log on do some quests, fish, wpvp, do some raids or dungeons with my base pvp gear, and do tons of BGS with players varying in gear lvl but all really close.
Now I cannot 184 against another Arms Warrior at 200 is not going to be skill driven. No matter how good i play you are going to hit me with the same abilities harder, and have more HP for me to chunk to kill you.
Thats not pvp, thats Player vs Gear!

Iâve been outgeared countless times⌠I won, you know why? Because I was able to outplay them⌠I watched higher geared players get outplayed all the time⌠it is about skill. Yes, gear is a bonus and is important⌠but saying youâre gear locked is just an excuse.
Youâre play prot warrior is currently pretty bad for pvp. While arms is the top dps spec for pvp. Youâre gimping yourself.
Hearing balimos talk was a headache. Everytime that guy got banned for cheating, he came to the forums crying.

Apparently you need gear to be good. As of now I need gear to be equal.
The 184 honor pvp set is absolutely not competitive anymore. Players in that gear are basically like wearing greens to me. When it is ranked up to 197 next week it will help a bit, but in just a few more weeks the rest of us will be full 226 ilvl gear and any honor set wearers, even unranked conquest set wearers, will be left in the dust.

Meanwhile youâve provided 0 evidence at all? Youâve spent the entire time crying about your casual pvp in which not every game, but some games people have better gear than you.
Not at all, just because you donât have the ability to get the gear⌠doesnât mean gear is the end all be all⌠practice, get better⌠play a spec that viable in pvp. Youâre just making excuses for your inability to beat people.
I am a 50 year old guy with a family a 30 yr old son, and yada yada yada, I donât need to be called a kid, and a baddie, and told I am crying because people disagree with me.
