If people were getting banned for going naked and RP walking to try to claim the farm in AB was bannable then the claim one and run the flag “who cares if we win” EoTS meta should also be bannable. Both are playing for currency without the end goal being a win. They are the same thing. I don’t think either should be bannable, but if one is then there should be consistency.

Iffy subject for blizzard to make a ruling on and they’re not actually the same thing. In the AB example, it’s a clear full stop to playing. People are simply “afk” til it ends. In the EOTS example, people are still playing, still fighting and dying etc. They may not be trying too hard and playing poorly but that’s not bannable.

Except people do win with that strategy, people do participate with that strategy, people are earning honor via objectives with that strategy. Get out of here with your attempts to justify your AFKing.

To play the EOTS meta correctly is definitely griefing, but most likely blizzard wont do anything about it. (I’m not implying that they should) People will purposely neutralize bases without the intent to cap them to delay the game longer.
But what if they get a random that wants to play towards the objective of actually winning and getting 3 marks? Then it is griefing just like the AB example.

Where do you draw the line? Horde grief the hell out of the flag all game and I think that’s the most boring, waste of time going. I think that’s possibly the worst along the lines of idiots AFKing at nodes.
Well based on Blizzard’s stance on the AFK/naked AB meta they intend for you the play to win the game. The win condition of the EoTS meta isn’t play to win it is play to max honor. They don’t care if they get 1 mark or 3. The win condition of the AB meta wasn’t play to win it was play to max marks.
This is more a case of the map being badly designed.
If you still dont get what the problem of playing naked was, you deserve another ban.

I didn’t play naked ABs nor did I get a ban. I’m just pointing out that the new meta is the same thing and if there aren’t bans for this then the bans for the naked ABs were not justified. Maybe nothing is being done because a different segment of the playerbase is griefing this time?
Holding one base and running the flag is a valid strat that actually requires playing the game. Naked AB was just afking in the starting zone with extra steps.
Bad players with a bad strat should = ban? A strat is a strat and the effective ban reason was not playing to win. What the strategy is doesn’t matter.
They’re playing in the BG and competing just because they don’t care about marks doesn’t change that. It’s not just a gimme, the other team can shut it down if they want simply by taking the flag.
I’m sorry, but I don’t play BGs just to maximize my currency of choice per hour. I play to win the BG. Intentionally taking one point and capping flags to maximize honor gains while openly stating that you don’t care about winning the BG is effectively griefing.
So go take a second point.
What were you saying when people were complaining about getting into a naked AB? Were you telling them to just go cap a flag. What a ridiculous suggestion. Yeah go 1 v 10 the opposing faction to try to fight against the meta people on your team. You can’t be serious.
The big difference is the other team can shut down a flag capping team hence it actually requires pvp and playing the BG to work.
Naked AB is literally about just losing asap, so afking with extra steps.
