You could make this weak argument for literally anything in the game. It was harder to level and acquire gear in the beginning, so now those players have been getting the shaft for years. Leveling is going to be even faster in SL, so everyone has been screwed out of their effort. Blah blah.
Things change and older content becomes easier as time goes on. It’s not like anyone is going to be “staying” in those lands and acquiring new gear. Especially with the new leveling system – they want it to be more fluid, so that they can make it to the current lands easier.

Yeah, it was hell. I think everyone should be miserable too. Why should new or returning players get to have fun when I had to do all that work?
Returning players need to do it as punishment for quitting in the first place and noobs have to do it as punishment for being new.

It took more effort to grind out pathfinder than it did to get MT appearances, and yet pathfinder is now free and MT is unobtainable
Pathfinder was never designed, or advertised, as time-sensitive content. Not going to happen.
You’re comparing apples to ceramic heat shielding. Things so different the analogy doesn’t even make sense.
Class mechanics have changed, even tho removing content is bad, bringing them back is unfeasable without redoing them entirely.

Unless you have a time machine that allows you to go back to the Legion version of all the classes, then it’s not coming back. People should push for new challenges and exclusives instead of hanging on to the old ones.

That’s quite a leap. Pathfinder practically falls in the laps of players playing the game fully, there’s no skill or challenge involved at all, it’s just a matter of time. Mage tower could be outgeared to some extent, but it was never full on face roll with some specs being much more difficult than others.
Depends on how many toons you were playing. Pathfinder was one-time whereas mage tower was repeatable on many classes; time spent gearing a toon solely to do the mage tower can’t be discounted. I think I unlocked just about every available appearance except all the healer specs, so I’d rate the time investment for myself at least equal to PF.
That being said, I’m not a fan of time-limited things nor PF so I don’t care about the end result. It was more an observation which I chuckled at in the moment.
As pretty as the tower appearances are (coming from someone who doesn’t own a single challenge mode item), no, those people rightfully earned their appearances during that time.

It’s a common fact that regular features eventually get reduced in difficulty as time goes on. I mean at one time, creating a DK had several restrictions. I think the only restriction now is that you have a regular account and not a starter account.

Should just scale to keep the same difficulty to allow people to do it.
I’m not a fan of stuff being time limited or removed from the game.
Should also be scenario options (maybe via Chromie) or some such for people who missed and wanna do the War of Thorns event.
