If current WoW game designers team can complete with the Vanilla team game designers team at Blizzard. You are good enough to be proud of yourself.
I just wanted the vanilla WoW, but I got this classic WoW,
The different between Vanilla and Classic that I’ve seen so far.
Layers in Classic
Layers shouldn’t be on PvP server.
No Layers in Vanilla.
When we couldn’t do quests in STV we were angry, so we formed raids to attack each other at The Barren and Southshore.
Those were the real world PvP and fun.
Bosses in MC can be taunted now in Classic.
Bosses in MC immune to taunt in Vanilla.
Ragnaros can be beaten with no resistance gears in Classic
Resistance gears really made the different in Vanilla.
All the kids nowadays think that WoW players in the early 2000s were not as good as them, when Asmongold himself couldn’t even tank Onyxia properly because she immunes to taunt.
Just Imagine if the resistances gears are really needed like in Vanilla, with that kind of tank. 100% wipe for sure.
Please let BWL, AQ40 and Nax be the same as it used to be.
The knowledge is just a small part. people posted video and strategies all over the place back then.
Just make bosses in MC immune to taunt and resistances are needed like they used to be. you’ll know the different.
It’s bit like Ilvl for Mythic+ on retail now.
The patch is the biggest kicker. You didn’t need resistance gear for MC by Patch 1.12.
It’s really not as big of a deal as people are making it out to be. Average Joe guild isn’t going to clear the place in a hurry, just like Average Joe guild barely clears raids in Retail now.
I don’t pvp, so layering honestly doesn’t bother me. I see plenty of people around the zones, and eventually when it settles we’ll all be in one spot. Sounds reasonable, especially since I’m on the only RP server (our pop is usually medium but I’ve seen high) it would suck if there were too many people crammed into one place, you’d never get anything done and people would quit. It’s really for the best, I don’t even notice it honestly and more importantly it’ll eventually be gone.
RP servers are friendly people, and RP isn’t mandatory. You may not find the most cutting edge players there as easily, but it’s worth it for the community, to me at least. More laid back with better names is the best way I’d describe it.
Dear classic people, dear retail people. Can we please get together and take down the true enemy. The people who claim this game sucks! Let us stop our bickering and unite to one of us holding them down and the other punching them and every 5 min’s we can switch spots. Then we all have beers afterward… sound good?
Community on RP servers is actually fairly important. Much like back before cross realm, everyone knows the good from the problem players. As stated, you won’t see Mythic raiders, but there are plenty of Heroic raiders if that’s what you like. It’s a lot more casual and laid back, but there is a very strong sense of community. And so long as you’re not disruptive, you can watch RP events and just be impressed with the sheer amount of planning that goes into it.
I will never leave RP servers. They’re genuinely quality individuals.
There was a Guild Master from Elitist Jerks who knows how hard MC was. I think he still remembers what it felt like to down Ragnaros for the first time during Vanilla.
I’m more laid back in general lately.
I’ve recently discovered that it’s the grind in the late game for higher tiered raids that cause me to go AFK for several months.
