If Current WoW can complete with Vanilla WoW

Eh. To each their own, but I played Vanilla once already, and it damn near made me quit the game at several points.

GASP I actually enjoy the gameplay in live. It allows me to have a life outside and not sit on my butt for 12 hours hoping for a green pair of pants. I enjoy Classic for what it is, but it’s kinda like playing Super Mario Bros on the NES again. Been there done that, but it’s comfort food.
WoW HAS to move forward, not backward other wise it will end sooner than later.
Are there community aspects I wish were still in live? Yes. Is LFR/G rectal cancer? Oh you bet it is. But at least casuals can SEE the content now. I was raiding and I never got into BWL back in the day.

Agreed on all points aside the LFG/R.
Some people don’t have the schedule or time for endgame so they need that in order to experience the game.

The real solution to layering was for wow to add more hardware NOT cram more players and content to already overbooked hardware.

So I think it is you that doesn’t understand why layering is even necessary.

But I don’t know what he feels like when a kid who can’t tank Onyxia properly said Vanilla WoW players were not as good as them.

Imagine thinking that Asmongold is a reference to show how hard thing that he cant do are…

Actually, nevermind.
I’ll go tell him myself

I’d just like to point out that the three largest RP realms have quite a few guilds raiding Mythic. Hell, those realms are even more progressed through Mythic than my own. Doesn’t detract from the allure of RP realms by any means, just thought it made for a silly statement when you’re on the second largest one.

Entirely not joking about joining an RP server btw, just want one with chill people in retail

Big ones are Wyrmrest Accord for Horde and Moon Guard for Alliance.

Smaller ones are Sisters of Elune and Feathermoon.

RPPvP is Emerald Dream.

Their communities are all fairly diverse, so make some alts and poke around on the different servers. Ignore Trade and General (just like any server) and just look in Orgrimmar/Stormwind, or Dazar’alor/Boralus.

Side note: one of my favorite memories for Stormwind on Moon Guard was “Guild Recruitment Day.” It was this massive event that had guilds all over set up at stations to try and recruit people. Then there’s the incredibly in character Stormwind Guard that patrolled the streets, broke up fights. The realism was astounding, and just really fun and memorable.

Edit:

That’s fair! If I’m going to be honest, I don’t keep up with Mythic raids at all. I don’t have the time or drive to raid at that level, so I tend to just enjoy Heroic then dabble in RP or alts.

Thank you for clarifying. I do tend to forget about Life and a few of the others here just because I’m more focused on the RP side of things.

Which would you suggest for someone new to RP?
I’d prefer somewhere I can either roll a Dark Iron Warrior or a Maghar Orc Shaman

No worries! I enjoy WrA when I’m over there. I rolled up one of the Horde allied races to level for heritage and it’s been an absolute joy.

I may be biased, but Wyrmrest has quite a few Mag’har clans that I’m sure wouldn’t mind showing you there ropes. I’m not up to date with the current and most modern groups, but if you ask around on either the forums or on the server itself, someone will point you in the right direction.

For Alliance, I’m sure there are likely Dark Iron or Dwarf based clans. Again, just from personal experience, I can’t recommend Moon Guard enough for any Alliance RP.

Yeah! I’ve had quite a few really fun groups while leveling. Wyrmrest being fairly large, I get a lot of all WrA groups when I’m dungeon leveling. It’s such a blast that it makes the leveling feel better!

Really need to check this out.

Better? No. Have more knowledge and more history to go on? Yes.
