If auto-silence is in classic i wont be buying it

Then it’s wrong and should be changed. That’s the point of this topic to discuss how ActivisionBlizzards current system is flawed.

Not everyone uses a blacklist. A blacklist is your choice to use, to interprete and to utilize. You might as well tell people that they aren’t allowed to talk with each other anymore and can’t selectively choose who they want to bring into their groups. Auto-squelching is still a headache especially when you did nothing wrong. If other players are allowed to say I’m wrong, I’m allowed to say that I’m right.

Sounds like a system that had GM intervention before automatic punishment would benefit you. Sure you don’t support removing auto-squelching? :joy:

black lists aren’t subjective though. if you ninja you get put on a black list.
behavior is entirely subjective. what you view as too much, i may not.

Honestly doesn’t bother me one way or the other. I will still have the same experience. The same type of experience i have had in every mmo I play.
Just seems the whole deal is quite ironic to me. With a whole lot of gaps in information and seems blown out of proportion.

Same as the whole grow thicker skin movement on the rest of the net.
You don’t hear this at the grocery stores, restaurants, and any other place of business. Only on the internet.
You know why? People know where that line is. People know when a topic is appropriate and when it’s not.
Go into a resturant and start randomly talking to people like it’s barrens chat. Lol
Watch what happens. Bet it’s not a squelch.

So basically, if you act like a decent human being and dont start, or mix yourself up in drama there wont even be an issue from the start?
Does not matter what type of chat enforcement is involved.

Tell me how this plays out with loot trading.
Also there were cases of people being falsely put on blacklists because of that mob mentality. Wasn’t there even some name changes issued to a few players (before paid named changes) because of sheer harassment on their server because of blacklists?
That caused a lot of issues. It’s why name and shame is no longer part of the game.
This is going to be quite an interesting project when it’s all said and done.

I can’t wait to see the next Blizz 2 step dance. Maybe they will do a lil cha cha this time. LOL

Sounds like you block cars on their way home from work anytime someone says a naughty word you don’t like

Sounds like you had the perfect tools to handle the situation back then. What exactly is the problem?

It’s not for pvp interactions. Unless you consider rolling an alt and sending them harassing ingame mails part of your normal pvp interactions.

No. Thats the whole point. Try to keep up.

Ya, because there is NO WAY people would abuse something, especially when its online and virtually anonymous. Nah, that would never happen…

OP is clearly the one with the hurt feelings if they felt the need to make a thread about it. Hopefully Classic WoW will be the comforting safe space you deserve.

I really get a laugh out of that weak shallow BS argument.
It is not that I or others “disagree” with you, we just don’t want to hear your crap clogging up public channels when we are playing the game for some escapism from real life.

Your freedom to be a public channel cancer in game is so important to you that you would not “buy” classic? Well seeing as you clearly already play BFA, you would not be buying anything and I suspect you’ll be in classic fouling up public channels as long as you can before the silence falls on your contributions.

Good god, now I am on the same side of an issue with Manzo.

Are you under the impression people want to hear you on those same channels? Some people have the decency to just ignore things they don’t like or aren’t interested in, others take everything personally and “feel the need” to go tell mom on anyone that says a no-no word.

Life is made up of choices made and results of those choices. Also when playing in Blizzard’s house you either follow blizzard’s rules or take a hike. Trust me, you would not be missed.

Have any of you ever seen the movie Demolition Man?

I think there’s quite a few here that would love nothing more than create a character in San Angeles.

Three sea shells? Anyone?

Ya, doubt that will ever happen.

Nope. The system the OP is describing is basically mob rule. And when has a system like that ever gotten out of control…
