well lets see, i’ve been reported for disagreeing with someone on which expansion was best, i’ve been reported for trying to form my own group for the same dungeon as another player who wouldn’t take me, i’ve been reported because i left a raid group whose rules i didn’t like to go form my own group.
considering the various ways people have reported the system being abused just in this thread and others? yes.
people have literally used auto silence reports to get people on opposing pvp teams silenced…
i have no problem being an adult. the problem i have is people who have no problem abusing the system.
the fact that you guys can actually defend a system that has been and will be abused, a system that people have admitted they intend to abuse is disgusting.
i was muted for about 4 hours before it got cleared up. enough time to prevent me from doing what i was planning on doing. do you really think that is fair?
People abuse the fact that they own 2 fists on a daily basis. Removing all hands is not a sensible answer. The vast majority of times hands are used for productive purposes and enjoyment (wink, wink) and when abused they leave themselves open to punishment.
It has not even remotely been shown to be demonstrably “broken” in current retail.
lets see, people have reported that they have seen people abuse it in pvp matches, people have reported that they have seen it abused by people trying to form groups for similar raids to prevent competition, people have reported that they intend to use it to prevent fellow “insert profession x” here silenced to prevent competition.
so make the system not abuseable.
right click report no longer can solely silence them with enough reports.
instead it merely ignores them for those that reported them. then blizzard comes in and determines if any actual action is needed.
That’s not what he’s arguing. There needs to be a clear definition as what is off the table, even if it subjective. This is more than likely why he asked for an official source.
I’d rather know the rules ahead of time so we don’t have to tip-toe around things. Foul language doesn’t bother me, but there are those who take exception. So I don’t use profanity. Why? Because it’s clear cut.
funny because i’ve seen it used to prevent me from forming a raid, i’ve seen it used to limit the ability of other teams in pvp, i’ve even seen it used to prevent competition when it comes to professions.
reported for enough that i got silenced. which prevented me from continuing to form the raid in question. i’ve seen entire pvp teams get silenced preventing them from coordinating in a bg.
does that seem fair to you?
yeah the gm came in and cleaned it up eventually, but by then the damage was already done.
