Arms warrior atm in PvP is the strongest melee class, it has the most consistent damage out of any other dps while also having an insane amount of utility with intervene which stops a lot kill pressure from the enemy team while they can charge, ignore pain and spam condemn to their heart’s content.
The changes however that will be happening on Tuesday will 100% destroy any semblance of balance in PvP as the current ladder is almost over 50% warriors due to how strong they are.
Watch this clip from the R1 Warrior telling WoW devs to not let the patch go live:

IF this does not get fixed before Tuesday, there will be ANOTHER mass exodus of people unsubbing and this time it won’t be the casuals or PvE players, it’ll be everyone from the PvP community.

I don’t disagree. I’ve seen Arms Warriors absolutely trash people in PvP ever since Shadowlands started, and many of them weren’t anymore geared than any other PvPer that early into the expansion. Buffs aren’t a bad thing -necessarily- but …for classes that are already performing really well? That’s really bad for underperforming classes.
I don’t know if I agree that it’s going to bring on a PvP community killing exodus but then again, there’s so many gripes so many people have with this expansion that I won’t be surprised if it does happen. PvP is absolutely in a weird and pretty bad place right now.
The problem is exactly like you said, it’s already strong so they don’t need buffs at all. The reason why I’m saying a lot of people will unsub is because they are already the most played class in arena by far, now in PTR they are doing 20k non crit MS on top of everything else.
No one will stay subbed to a game that is on maintenance mode where the devs clearly are not even worried about how changes are going to affect huge parts of the community.
You even have the BEST WARRIOR in the world telling the WoW dev team to not go through with the changes.

Funniest thing I’ve read coming from a Paladin.

Good god what? 20k?? And it’s ntot a crit? I’ve seen them do like 18k crits in PvP. Goodness me that’s not good at all…
Yeah no, definitely they need to address that. It could ver ywell cause many people who are already frustrated with trying to gear up through Pvp to just quit entirely. Damn it, I know I did because of this problem. And it’s not even Arms Warriros that are the issue by themselves; they just contribute to it because of the design behind them this expansion. Ret Paladins are also extremely OP from what I’ve seen.
PvP in general just seems …badly tuned, this expansion. Probably the worst it’s ever been.

Tbf we got a Divine Toll nerf which was our gimmick convoke type one shot and also saw a bunch of nerfs to WoG so we can’t off heal as well either.
Don’t get me wrong, Ret is still strong but we’re no where near the power of an arms warrior. They’ve only gotten buffs since the start of the expansion.
The problem is that they seem to make PvE changes that affect PvP as a consequence, I wish they would just tune the two worlds separately.

What buffs are they getting?
Here’s the Reddit PvP forum thread if you guys want to see the reaction of the general PvP community:

This is NOT looking good for Blizzard lol
Man mortal stroke does a ton of damage after 2 overpowers even without exploiter as it currently is.
Apparently blizzard doesn’t think so, I’m p sure Ion mains an arms warrior.
And here I thought it was my charming drunken personality that had everyone swooning…hic!

Ion is a shaman (Gurgthock on Mal’ganis) and always has been since vanilla 1.0. Lol

How did we let a guy named Gurgthock take over a multi billion dollar MMO company?

He doesnt run the company, he’s the game lead. Bobby Kotick runs the company. Ion was a very successful guild leader and ran the biggest theory-crafting website for years and has a professional degree (he was a lawyer at a prestigious DC firm before this). You may not like him but he is well qualified. Generally they do a great job with PVE content, the raids have always been incredibly well made overall. PVP more hit-or-miss since its really just an add-on to a game that is designed for PVE primarily. these changes seem poorly thought out (but Ion may have no role in that, could just be the PVP leads doing stuff and he didnt overrule them).

As a PvP player, I don’t like this statement.

I mean you may not like it but its just reality, this game was originally designed as a PVE game then they tacked on PVP stuff. Its never been the main focus of WoW, and often isn’t well balanced. Other games (e.g. GW2, daoc, etc) were explicitly designed with PvP in mind.
Thats not to say they shouldn’t do a better job now that its a bigger component of the game, but actually balancing pvp would involve things like having arenas with static gear and skill balancing which is independent of PVE, which people have resisted over the years.

PvP in this game is literally always dead. I honestly don’t understand why anyone plays this game solely for PvP, given their track record of horrendous balance.
There are dozens of really good pvp games that have PvP as their main focus. Why would anyone play this mess?

None of those games have the same combat system
We’re all hoping league mmo isnt a disaster
