You incapable of reading full posts?
I sure did
You weren’t paying attention. Several regular posters that didn’t twink wanted gear to matter again.
Perhaps you should go and reread some old threads.
What does it say in my post after “I want to stomp levelers/________”?
And your post before that was blaming twinks for everything
Exactly this guy gets it
The essence of a twink is to be at max gear efficiency and you are likely fighting against people who aren’t geared.
A 120 at max level in BiS dunking on a fresh 120 is hardly different then a twink on a leveler.
According to the forums the past few months thats not true they say you are max lvl so gear up and honestly gear isn’t hard to get in bfa anyway
Plenty of max level posters here didn’t like them either. I get the stat distribution made it boring. All they had to do was give more choice in that regard, like reforming used to be.
i did it at the end of the season after i was sitting in full heroic ilvl gear, well aware of how that increased my odds of success, but that was the point, i wanted the mog and didn’t want a lot of problems in obtaining it. the only real issue i ran into was facing UHDK/Rdruid combos as i was running with a holy priest.
those two statements go together, a lot of guilds are starting on heroic to get enough gear to clear normal Az.
what im talking about is complexity, the amount of stuff you are having to track on boss fights now is getting above what you need to track in 2s, even if you are facing a superior class in damage, its not like you are tracking more variables, you are just staying cautious of their ouch factor.
also i always play unholy, you know that, top dps or not wouldn’t have made a difference ![]()
I was one of the ones asking for templates removed. My stats being chosen for me sucked. I want to get a bigger sword in order to do more damage. I don’t think it belongs in an mmorpg and goes against the core of the game. Same for factions. “Orcs vs Humans” is what started it all. Don’t play a game that has a deep story and tell others to disregard said story.
why not? the story behind each of the bgs is not really related to the main story of the game. in that sense all of pvp is not related to the story.
i wasn’t particularly fond of it at first either, however i learned to work around it, that said, scaling could be reworked to allow you to stack stats, but scale everyone to the exact same ilvl.
roughly translated: I want an advantage. gearing should be about theory and formula, not who has the bigger sword.
I played an outlaw rogue during the templates. It sucked in pvp. The stats chosen were terrible for my spec and fighting in pvp was not fun. If they bring stats back, they need to give a few packages to pick from
There is no working with a template. You didn’t even need enchants or gems in your gear. How do “work around it?”
Please explain. Horde and the alliance can still be fighting over all these resources and territory in the bgs.
what i noticed is that templates made everyone hit for around the same amounts with a small amount of variance due to ilvl. that means playing a back and forth of spells and counters, ie they are casting X, thats a big spell i need to interupt, or they are casting Y, i can take that hit because im in the process of setting up my own big hit. templates forced you to play more of the back and forth countering than simply just blowing cds to hit for big numbers.
warsong gulch is a fight over resources on the border between barrens and ashenvale that the horde has already won per the story. if you travel to that area in the world the horde has cleared the area and is freely logging.
with undercity gone and arathi highlands officially in the hands of alliance(per lore) arathi basin was won by alliance
ToK has no lore, and there are no winners in WG unless you like beating up Archavon like a sadistic meanie.
You should be doing this regardless of templates. Plus with the 1% bonus to stats, the classes with stat weights relatively equal got a better template than someone who needed to stack 1-2 stats. It led to just as many imbalances as without templates.
Just because a faction controls it now doesn’t mean the other couldn’t invade. Look at the stromgarde warfront.
WG is a fight over access to the titan vault.
Absolutely incorrect.
There was tons of people who weren’t twinks who thought templates were a bad move. And it doesn’t take much to understand why if you are capable of entertaining ideas outside of your own preconceptions.
It’s very simple in reality, templates removed almost entirely the “RPG” aspects of the game for PvPers. There was little to no character progression or customization anymore.
And no character progression doesn’t mean “I jUsT wAnT tO oNe ShOt NeW 120s”, it means the progression of your character compared to himself. I want my toon that I have been putting work into gearing to feel more powerful than he did last week, or last month, it’s not about your power in relation to others in bgs or the world, no matter how geared you get there will always be those raiders or no-lifers who will out gear you. It’s about that sense of growth in power compared to your earlier self. Feeling like you’re moving forward in character strength as you progress thru the game is a pretty damn core aspect of the genre.
And as others have mentioned they also removed the customization that secondary stats allowed you to make. A mage that stacked haste played quite differently than one that stacked crit for instance, and they both played differently than the mage that stacked mastery. All of that went out the window with templates, every spec played exactly the same because they all shared the same predetermined allotment of stats. Being able to use gear, items, enchants, etc to tweak your class to play exaclty as you want it to is also a very important core aspect of the genre.
TLDR: Templates nullified the RPG aspects of the game for Pvpers by drastically reducing character progression and customization.
thats a pretty good point, but like i said, i think a better solution would be to scale everyone to the same ilvl so that pvp is skill based, but you can still build around stats or traits.
officially Alliance won.
meanie.
Naw I’m not okay with twinks for different reasons that gear mattering in PvP.
That being said I’m very much in favor of there being much tighter scaling than we have now. Vendors with very tight scaling would be cool. (Wod scaling, because it’s much easier to understand than this crap).
None… And that’s the problem as to why wpvp was an absolute mess in legion. Probably the worst I’ve ever seen. You know before warmode made it 5v1 or raid vs everybody ![]()
Legion turned the dueling area outside org into a barren wasteland.
