GDKPs actively ruin the eco, it promotes gold buying which promotes botting, Obviously GDKPs aren’t going to stop bots but it’s definitely going to slow down inflation of gold.
So no, GDKPs are relevant if they get banned or not cause it makes the average player experience better.
I said it wont stop it but slow things down. I don’t want to play a game where flasks are 400g like they are on classic era by level 60. GDKPs actually ruin the game long term and I’m glad it’s getting banned.
They are like 800g+ rn on classic and stopping GDKPs won’t reduce their price. It is an issue of supply.
Take away GDKPs and many players (think healers, those with pvp professions, etc.) will have no good method of farming and thus will buy gold.
They aren’t what causes massive inflation - the insane demand for consumes and bots generating lots of raw gold does - but even if flasks are cheaper it will be equally harder to farm that gold.
If flasks go to minimum price per the time (couple hundred gold per) due to insane supply - you get into a situation in which all other materials are at bottom price and the fastest way to farm gold is raw gold (like solo DMT runs) and, again, players are spending hours farming for weekly consumes to raid.
Or you can avoid all the farming and let GDKPs exist but you rather find out yourself as all the other bad decisions SoD is brining about.
When I make 30-40k in a single naxx GDKP - 800gold flasks aren’t a problem. But if I have to farm for 3 hours to make 150 gold to buy a flask. That’s a massive problem for desire to raid.
That is gonna be 60 more then likely. I hope they change the encounters up in MC, BWL, and the rest to give it a little bit of a fresh taste at least.
Its sad that GDKP people have problems with anything that isn’t GDKP related I get it.
When I started playing vanilla it was on a 28kps land line internet and I could only really play 5 mans and could only really visit IF during the dead of night.
I missed a lot of the raid content due to RL limitations so now I want to try and get some of that fresh feeling back now.
I honestly could care less about GDKP never ran one I have more fun with a guild doing whatever loot system they feel is fair.
If GDKP was facilitating a mind set that one needs to buy gold from 3rd party vendors then those people should have been banned for 6 months minimum so they miss out on the seasonal stuff.
Not only that but the entire account should be flagged for extra observation for a certain duration to make sure they keep squeaky clean.
geez it’s almost like it’s their preferred loot system for a reason!
all the cryscreaming about 60%!! wait no 70!!! wait no 80%% wait no ALL GDKPERS BUY GOLD!! aside, there are serious benefits to actual execution of the raid of the GDKP system that do not exist in other PUG loot systems.
The quality of my PUGs will now be directly downgraded as a result of this change, ignoring loot distribution.
they’re evolving. First it was plans on how they were going to circumvent the ban, second it was screaming how their civil rights were being violated, third it was some weird smug copes about how they’re happy and they’re going to make more money than ever, and now we’re at the point where they’re making these weird posts about how all non-GDKP runs automatically implode. I wonder what’s next?
I’m looking forward to the “omg gatekeeping is so bad!!!” threads coming over the next few phases.
GDKPers will just run hard res raids with strict requirements, it’s gonna rustle the jimmies of many green / naive SoD players.
Even the supply crunch of carries is going to have a big impact on the lower tier players.
I also don’t know any players with a bis toon that is anti-gdkp, it is mostly the players that wanna get carried and have no experience being the carries in pug runs.
So it is great irony that they will the ones most negatively impacted.
Anyone with a near bis character is going to strictly attend a raid where they have the highest chance of obtaining the last 1-2 items they need, this means a HR raid. Even SR won’t be sufficient as every man and their dog will SR the item they want (especially via tactical ressing).
If they can’t attend HR raids, they just won’t raid.
So yes, this will directly result in PUG raids having overall worse geared/skilled players attending.
If you want a good clear, you attend a run with HRs where you get carried.
MS>OS runs will become, as they have in every other version of wow, a complete unreliable minefield of terribads that is a total 50/50 diceroll of throwing away your lockout in exchange for nothing.
