Idea for Wrath LFD

Just a thought… but when if LFD was placed back into the game but you have to queue up with 5 players found on your server.

Teleports the party to the instance, same rewards/lock outs but you still have to put the work in to make the group.

Similar to how arena queues work.

LF2M R-LFD 2 queues. need heal and DPS

Thoughts?

This sounds like all of the features that aren’t really the reason players want LFD, and many of the reasons some players don’t want LFD.

A better solution would be a queue system that doesn’t have bonus rewards or a teleport.

So your idea is no system/current idea?

That is basically what is in place currently… Just asking if that is what you personally want?

Remove teleport to dungeon, remove battle groups (single server to queue only). Then LFD is fine as it is on live.

The problem is on live, there are no repercussions for being an a**hat.

Have servers with the old dungeon finder, and have a few without it. See which product has more customers. Let capitalism decide.

Someone already raised this idea. Can’t be bothered repeating text.

just curious. was teleport dungeon really the big problem with it?

There was never a problem with LFD. People just like to make excuses for hte sake of excuses.

The problem was Cross-Server contamination of server identity, leading to a “faceless NPC” effect that persists in Retail today for many people. The idea that you’ll never see any of these other players again … ever… so whatever you do is fine, just be selfish and greedy and there’s no repercussions.

The solution is RDF with all the features including the auto-grouping, but locked to the local realm, possibly with a toggle for those on dead realms who can’t find a group to expand them out to other realms.

A lot of people say that LFD removed the “human” aspect of the game. IE, removed the social aspect of the game to just pushing buttons… which I understand. Not my preference, I liked LFD, but I understand the argument all the same which lead to my ‘middle ground’ idea.

The problem is that your middle ground removes the only needed feature of the game. Automated grouping. Keeping it on server solves the issue people have with LFD.

You could drop teleports, goodie bags or extra emblems, and LFD would still be what people want.

See comment I just made. I completely understand the argument that LFD crushed the social aspect of the game. I thought my idea was a decent middle ground. Build your own groups, enjoy the same benefits we all loved

Yeah see I disagree with that. Where I don’t talk to people in LFD on retail, I still don’t talk to them even when I’m pugging heroics on TBC unless I need to explain someone how not to wipe the group.

Like no one can give a single good reason to how LFD is bad. Because LFD is literally the same thing as LFG spamming, except you get teleported to the instance, and get to do the dungeon, instead of spamming, getting to the instance, hearthing when someone leaves to replace, etc… Whereas, the whole xcuse of “Well garbage people are garbage and will just leave if they dont get loot from x boss” is a bad reason, just due to the fact that it already happens

Can you make an arguement for serve ronly groups for LFD? Sure. But then that just makes servers that aren’t named Benediction or Faerlina feel like a waste.

I personally wouldn’t mind LFD as it was, just with no teleport. Open up cross-server once the queues get too long - especially for low pop realms.

The benefits only existed to get people to use the tool and provide enough ‘warm bodies’ for it to work. If you remove the need for the warm bodies, you don’t deserve the benefits.

Does give you the option to still enjoy the LFD tool. I think if put to an anonymous vote, most people would keep the original LFD tool…

I never had an issue with the original LFD but I hate seeing it go so much that I decided to offer a ‘best of both worlds’ option instead of letting it fall away.

All the more reason to build your own groups imo…

low pop servers would really benefit from it… I can admit that. The AH really is what kills low pops… But why no teleport? Or am I just being too pampered…

Uh, I want the teleports. No way am I running all tf way to WC on my alt, or SFK for that matter.

It disconnects you for sure from the game world, and it does lead to people not leaving cities.

Azeroth dungeons are a good exception though.
