Idc I want tinkers

death knights, popular class
monks, not popular
demon hunters, overwhelmingly popular
if we’re following a trend then
tinkers, not popular

This is very clearly a straw man arguement and you should really be smart enough to recognize that.

The Alliance got mad at Mechagnomes, because they were a rushed race, that just stapled high res assets onto the default gnome model.

In particular, the alliance was upset because they got Mechagnomes when the Horde got the most requested race I’ve ever seen.

You literally said that yourself.

The Mechagnomes weren’t unpopular because they were Technology themed, the Mechagnomes are unpopular because they’re a rushed excuse blizzard made to give Vulpera to the Horde.

This is logical fallacies 101 dude.

Here’s a counterpoint, If you gave Tinkers to Vulpera, they’d be more popular. Because Vulpera are clearly a popular race.

Oh boy, too bad I main a Monk, and really couldn’t care less about Death Knight or Demon Hunter.

Hopefully the next class we get is Tinker.

Edgy stuff gets boring after like 5 minutes.

Meanwhile, as a Monk, I got to fistfight a giant spirit tiger, while walking on water.

The specs practically write themselves:

Pilot: A resourceful operator who pushes his mech to its limits and beyond to shield his allies from harm.

Sapper: A crafty artificer who deploys a variety of explosives and artillery to demolish his foes.

Medic: A clever alchemists who crafts various elixers and gadgets to heal their team.

nah. the cutesy tootsy stuff like ardenweald and pandaland gets old fast.

any day of the week ill take listening to hardcore metal music killing demons and dead things than listening to slow boring calming music drinking tea and watching fairies do theatre.

meanwhile as a dk, i can grip people and do undead stuff. or as a dh, i can turn into a demon and eye beam people to death. good times.

People need to understand that being a tinker having a deep understanding of alchemy is equally as important as your engineering ingenuity.

This is why gnomes have engineering racial and Goblins have alchemy racial.

How do you see a class that gets by on sweat, oil and mechanical know-how as a cutesy class.

I’m still an advocate of making it only for gnomes/ goblins/ vulpera and mechagnomes.

You can make it on other races after prestiging the class similar to how you unlock heritage armor.

My favorite continent, and my covenant! Strange….

I love heavy metal. A lot actually.
And I kill just as many Demons as you do.
Except I like to Kill Demons with Kung Fu, instead of Runeblades and Ghouls.

Here’s the thing Darthcarnage, I want you to take this to heart.
There are things that people really enjoy, that you might not understand. And that’s fine

You clearly enjoy edgy classes and themes, and that’s great.

But we could both Listen to Heavy metal and kill demons together, you would just play a Deathknight and use your runes and undead, while I play a Tinker and use my Mech.

Is that so bad? Each of us enjoys different fantasy archetypes. But WoW can fit all of these different archetypes together.

I’d be fine with this, but I’d really like to stretch it to include both flavors of Orc and both flavors of dwarf…

I do not get the obsession with tinker, isn’t it too close to the Engineering profession, which has a thousand pages of items to craft? (mostly useless of course)

Are we expecting a class that can deploy mountable gun turrets in a raid group, drop land mines, ride a Zeppelin around the room firing shots at a boss while everyone else is on the ground? What do we think the tinker class will offer a raid? What will tinker’s primary weapon be? A gun? A bow? A mace with gears on it that spin, like the one from UBRS? Tinker sounds like a balancing nightmare from a dev perspective.

I think the biggest reason I want this is because I want the class to have small person mechanics.

Like you’ll be in your Mech tanking then use a spell where you exit the mech ( you’re still controlling the mech with WASD) but your character model is outside and you’re clicking the ground so they’re collecting scrap to bring it back and repair the mechs armor.

I honestly think Tinker at least the tank spec could definitely use some kind of heat system that functions like rage but you don’t want to be heat capped.

**honestly the potential of the class is so limitless compared to dragon transformationclass or necro/dark ranger that could just be class skins. **

Ladies and gentlemen the absolute worst take on Tinker class goes to Bobjones!

Congratulations Bob you did it! That was the worst take ever!

No, I’m expecting a Tinker from WC3.
Uses intellect, can fight from far away with missiles and turrets
Or can fight up close as a tank in a Mech suit.

Exactly what the Tinker hero used to do in the RTS.
And what we see Tinkers in WoW do all the time

Probably. And use that. As a stat stick while in their Mech, like a Druid shapeshift.

same.
pretty sure its just a small, but vocal community.

yeah i dont think a lot of people who want tinkers have thought this through.

Potential is the sky since we have tons of tinkers across warcraft, WoW and HoTS that use entirely different weapons.

Yeah, but you get Vulpera… and 10.0 will be vulpera themed centering on their fox loa Lord Uwu.

I’m kinda the opposite but also the same? Like idc, but the more the same people make the same thread the more it makes me want something else

What games have you developed in the past 10 years?

We have the abilities of every hero unit except The Tinker and the Alchemist…

That’s where the obsession comes from. Those are the ones we’re missing

Every spec of every class is viable in a heroic raid. Balance is good enough for me.

A lot of the obsession stems from the fact that it feels like a missing class.
Like, go play the gnome starting zone, and tell me you don’t feel like gnomes should have a technology focused class?

This comment has the same energy as “why have mages when you can run a priest with enchanting?”

Class fantasy is a thing. Engineering doesn’t even come close to it.

One class will always be on the bottom… that’s why we have patches and honestly being a bottom class means very little since the difference is like 5% at max.

Mechanical know how is more important than anything
