Idc I want tinkers

But hey maybe they’ll go with something completely new, again, if anything at all heh.

I look forward to what’s on the horizon.

I hope you get them OP, would love a new class and race we could all use something new to wow.

If they made it somewhat like engineering sniper from swtor I would totally be down for that

I honestly could see turrets be something similar to Torbjorn in OW, where you spend your resources to upgrade it (No ult like the character lol, and could be a talent option so it isnt overpowered)

I honestly just love the idea of Tinkers because theres a lot of unique ideas that can come out of it. It would only step on Engineering toes a little but theres more they can do to get away from the profession. If anything we know about about Tinker abilities were to become some engineering crafts, it would become a mandatory profession to take and/or get nerfed to the point where you cant use them in instances

I think that if Engineering continues to make gadgets and toys for novelty and quality of life, there won’t be any problems. Players will still be able to use Goblin Gliders, Bombs and Teleports. In fact, Tinker would benefit Engineering! Think of all the craftable things that Engineering could make for Tinkers! All those weapon upgrades, cosmetics and Mech upgrades!

Yeah, I don’t care either… I hate the idea!

BUT! what I love is a healthy WoW, and if Tinker would help WoW spring back to life I am 100% all for it. WoW needs more classes and a lot of people like the idea of a Tinker, so why not?

Even though I’ve seen a LOT of people say they hate the idea of a Tinker class, I’ve rarely encountered people who say it isn’t likely.

And that gives me a bit of hope. It seems like and easy and popular class for blizzard to implement without screwing up. So I’d be really happy

ohhh your post count. :smiling_imp:

Personal opinion: But I hope whatever class we get is not a “hero” class. I actually like leveling and learning the ins and out of a class. Whether it’s tinker, necromancer, or even some kind of dragon class, I just want to be an adventurer learning to use their skills, not a special snowflake. It works for death knights and demon hunters, and I like those classes, but I don’t always want to be special.

because the op said if we get a dragon class over tinkers im so done. so my response was if we get a tinker class im so done. and then i said on a “SERIOUS NOTE.” i wasnt actually serious, just making fun of the op.

god people these days…

Well hero classes start at level 10 and personally I think a tinker starting zone based around New Gadgetzan that’s inspired by NYC would be incredibly immersive experience.

Like a goblin/ gnome true starting experience

that would not be a popular class.

you even said yourself that a lot of people hate the idea of a tinker.

blizz is in a rough spot right now. with two bad expansions in a row, they need a homerun thing. so tinker is not a homerun class. from what ive seen on the forums a homerun class would be something like a dark ranger, necromancer, or if a dragon themed class if the next expansion is dragon related.

mecha gnomes

I always found it really weird in the gnome starting zone, that you’re working with Tinkers to clean up radiation spills and stuff, and all of your buildings have gears and tech everywhere, but you can’t be a class that does any of that stuff.

Yes, a lot of people hate the idea, a lot of people also like the idea.

Dark Ranger would be another agility user, and steal from existing classes.

And “Necromancer” or “Dragon class” are literally the two most boring ideas anyone could come up with.
I don’t think you could be more generic, milquetoast fantasy if you tried. Big yawn.

So wow is doomed to just making a bunch of edge lord classes like Necromancer and Dark Rangers

The order we’ve gotten classes so far:

Death Knights, Edgelord class
Monks, Awesome.
Demon Hunters, Edgelord class
Now we need another awesome class.
Bring on Tinker.

Agreed.

My Hypothesis is that Tinker wouldn’t be a Hero Class, and would just start at Level 1, on Exiles reach.

Exiles reach has an NPC for every class that gives you a class specific quest, but There’s also a Tinker NPC that’s currently unused.

Why does he exist if he’s just gonna go unused?

Tinkers would just be another pet based class. Instead of actual pets you would have turrets. There’s a reason why a lot of people don’t like pet type specs that you need to be hands on with.

They may be boring to you and a very small community of players. But edgelord stuff is cool and the majority of players like edgelord stuff. And actually a majority of people like edgelord stuff regardless of wow. Just look at the past few expansions since mop. Wod edgelord, legion edgelord, bfa turned into edgelord in season 3, and shadowlands is edgelord. Even blizzard likes edgelord stuff lol

And your argument of classes are based off of Warcraft 3 can be thrown out the window because of shadowlands retconning the whole lore. Not that they can’t use it for specs, but you really can’t use that argument anymore because of good ol shadowlands.

And besides wow needs more fantasy type classes, not a tech based class. Yawn.

Did you miss the parts with the guns, or the healer spec, or the Mech suit tank spec?

You do know there are players in this game who don’t just DPS.

And those people have tastes that are really one-note and boring.
There’s more than enough Edgelord stuff to go around in WoW.

Tinkers exist in Universe, and have been around forever but they go unrepresented in our class roster.

This is objectively untrue.
Because all of the classes still have abilities based on WC3.
You’re throwing around arguments that are probably false…

We have 12 classes that are fantasy themed, but you’d want more of the same instead of asking for something unique.

I really don’t understand.
I would like something that feels like a unique part of WarCraft.

It would have a couple turrets for it’s dps spec but turrets aren’t really pets.

They’re static items similar to demon hunter sigils.

Tank spec would be about the mech and focused at keeping it 100% so you can be at maximum tanking efficiency.

Healing spec would most likely be based on Alchemist.

Think of Alchemist from warcraft 3 or Deckard Cain from heroes of the storm

i really doubt it would be a pet focused class since hunters already have the mechanical pet fantasy fulfilled

one of the biggest disappointments for alliance players when this was announced. the forums were flooded with alliance players mad that they got mecha gnomes while horde got vulpera. so many posts about really any other race besides mecha gnomes is what they wanted.

cant imagine tinkers will go down well either since mechagnomes and tinkers are literally two peas in a pod together lol
