Idc I want tinkers

Really this.
Every other race has a really thematic class.
You can be a Night elf Druid or an Orc Shaman. But no Goblin Tinker?

This is like getting a deck of cards but all the 9s are mysteriously missing.

I’d rather not go with a generic fantasy trope.
Tinkers are very unique compared to the existing classes, how many RPG’s have you played where you can fight in a Shredder suit?

see you later then.

The BFA Island teams had a bunch of tinkers.

The Island teams were clearly:
Ranged DPS
Ranged Healer
Melee Tank.

I’d love that lineup, because it would be an All-role Class and have a unique set of specs.

Some examples for the non-imaginative people. How Maplestory has the Mechanic;

While I dont want a complete copy, I can see;

  • Rocket booster double jump. Eat my fumes, demon hunters!
  • Drill hands. Melee attack that digs up nearby mining nodes.
  • Siege tank mode. Slow movement but more defence.
  • Deploying Turrets, much like totems, to damage surrounding enemies.

Totems have by-and-large been relegated to support or utility. And I don’t think that’s a bad thing.

Turrets could be interesting, really interesting. If Blizzard plays their cards right.
I could imagine all of your “Turrets” having shared charges and cooldowns, so you have to build the right turret for the right situation.

Single Target Turrets that shoot rockets, or AoE Turrets that shoot fire.
A mix of Both for cleave.
CC Turrets, Healing Turrets.

And you should be able to “Scrap” them, to refund a big chunk of their cost and cooldown, this way Tinkers aren’t falling behind when moving from pack to pack.

Or the turrets are connected by wire, so you cant move too far away from it. You’re basically rooted by them. lol

For awhile now I kinda had a feeling of meh towards tinkers. However it seems like a popular idea and it’s doubt it hurts anything as the game will never be balanced. So if it makes people happy then I say go for it give people tinkers.

I want tinker with a good name. Mechanic.

Seniority Bias is a hell of a drug.

YES! THIS x1000

“Tinker” was the Name of the Hero Unit in WC3, so that’s what everyone recognizes. But I’d really be happy with anything else.

Mechanic is the best idea.
Or Engineer
Technician
Artificer
Anything better than “Tinker”

I’d really prefer them to get a jump similar to Pharah from Overwatch.

You just hold space to ascended and you can tap it to slow fall

I don’t want a new class.

BUT

If we’re getting a new class, I 100% want it to be Tinker over any other reasonable possibility.

Bard? No thank you.
Necromancer? Dilutes DK and Warlock. Don’t get me wrong, I’d main a Necromancer. That’s the issue. Bye bye to my Warlock main and my DK alt. Why would anyone play you now?
Some Dragon class? It just sounds dumb.

I want Tinker. And I want a variety to the specs. I want a spec that is about battle-bots, turrets, bombs and gadgets. And I want a spec that is about a mech-suite.

I must sound like a Broken Record at this point, but I’m going to make the Deck of Cards analogy again.

If someone gave you a deck of cards to play with, but there were no 9s in the entire deck. You’d notice. It would feel weird.

We can fill out almost every archetype from WC3. You can be an Orc Shaman, or a Night Elf Druid, or a Human Paladin.
But you can’t be a Goblin Tinker?
It just feels like something is… missing.

Like we’re one card short of a full deck.

I don’t personally care for the idea of a tinker class and wouldn’t play it, but that’s okay. I’d still be happy on the behalf of those who wanted them, though

I agree.

Goblin and Gnomes are fundamental to Alliance and Horde because they provide us with these really cool gadgets and machines.

And yet, when we get done killing 100 enemies in 90 seconds with our cool new mech, we’re like “neat. moving on.”
We need a class that recognizes these efforts on a permanent basis.

With that said, I hope Tinker, if it was to be added, isn’t race locked to Goblin and Gnome. :stuck_out_tongue:

I feel like they’re just underrepresented.
Like, when the Horde got Paladins in BC, they showed off this entire social sect of blood elves that were Blood Knights, and how they were a unique part of the Horde.

But we’ve had Goblins and Gnomes being unique forever, and almost no representation for them.

Oh I agree 100%
Just in Warlord of Draenor we saw plenty of Orc and Draenei technicians.
And I think Mechagnomes and Vulpera should be included too.

And in WC3, all of the Alliance war machines and guns were made by dwarves, not gnomes. So Dwarves too

This is honestly what I think as well. Kinda reminds me of the diaper gnomes lol.

Eh, I think it should be available to more than just goblins and gnomes to broaden its appeal.

Also, Mechagnomes we’re clearly rushed and only given to the Alliance so the horde could get the most requested race I’ve ever seen.

I doubt Mechagnomes are unpopular because they are “Technology themed”.
Instead they’re unpopular because they’re untrasmogable and forced to wear diapers

Counterpoint; let Vulpera be Tinkers, watch as it skyrockets in popularity

Did you ever play Ratchet and Clank?
If we get Vulpera Tinkers, that might actually give me competition with Goblins. Both are great

Also being a Vulpera Mech pilot would be too cute to handle.
