I dont want to see them go back to the way the world was, I want to see what 14 years later looks like. Rebuilding, Plaugelands healing, new quests, delves added to the old world, new dungeons, world quests in all zones, etc etc. Maybe since tech has gotten better we can expand citys and towns like Goldshire to have more than 2 huts that dont even count as houses.

At the least they can fill in the barrens canyons so its not a pain to travel while leveling.

This would be fun if it was a Bronze Dragonflight/Chromie story catchup thing. For the normal map there’s no way they’d ever do this, some of the “new world” needs a 3.0 anyways.

If they added the old world back it would be in some optional way you could port into and you just wouldn’t be able to fly in those areas just like we can’t fly in Silvermoon still because there’s just gigantic empty spaces between the walls since you weren’t intended to see it from above.

Flooded Thousand Needles has one of the best quest chains in the game. A lot of the Cata changes were great, but I would like to see the destruction repaired, like the smashed dam in Wetlands. Not sure Blizz would ever do a world overhaul like that again though.

As someone who played from Vanilla all the way through until now… no thanks. I like the more linear path in questing in old world after the Cataclysm.
