Oh no dude i believe it, pugs will always mostly be a nightmare but we aint talking about pugs here
togc is very fast and i think its a great break in raiding before ICC. if it was a 2 hour raid iâd be seriously burned out right now, let alone once ICC drops. so im happy with that part.
at a minimum I would love to see a three week release schedule for ICC. i would love to see 5 weeks with heroic after LK kill 4th week, but i would be very pleased with just the three weeks. heroic unlocked, week 1 lower spire, week 2 plague and blood, week 3 frostwing and LK.
adding 2 weeks to the release of ICC is not what i would call drip feeding. I think it would be completely reasonable, a very far cry from the 2 months it was originally.
i did in fact play the game back then. not relying entirely on memory however, i spent 30 minutes before starting this thread looking for similar threads recently as well as back when ICC was released. while there were definitely a couple mentions of people that say they would have liked it faster, i found a lot more people saying they were very happy with the gated release.
But why? If you wont clear the raid fast anyways cause your guild arent as you put it âsweaty parsersâ why do you care if other people do? And no one likes content to be gate kept by blizzard by the commuinty by anything thats just dumb smooth brained nonsense.

Googled âicecrown citadel gating mmo championâ and this is the first thread I clicked on:
10: -1 for gating system, -3 for easy bosses until now (I know they want everyone to see all content, but still, itâs ICC) = 6
Yeah 10 - 2 for gating system and limited tries system = 8
-1 for gating system.
-3 for gating system +1 for LOL DWARVES! 8/10 =P
Gating - I donât mind having to wait for new parts of the raid
Gating system is totally fine and has been reasonable.
coupled with limited tries and a gating system has ruined the entire experience.
I gave it an 8 for one reason, and thatâs the gating system and limited attempts system. I donât like either really, I wish they would let all bosses be out at once
Thatâs all the mentions of gating on the first two pages. Six people against gating and two people fine with it. I guess you could try to argue that the playerbase today would somehow be more in favor of gating but that would be an impossible argument to make, and you know it.

Well yea could you imagine if they actually gatekept a rerelease of a raid that millions of people have alrdy cleared between original wrath, private servers and just farming mog and mount in retail. Can you imagine how stupid that would be.

I was in a pretty casual group back then and even we were annoyed with the gated release back then.
People tend to forget all of the gating for ICC was simply done to stretch what content was left because Cata was already massively behind schedule at that point.

It should be gated if anything for gear progression.
ICC wasnât intended for you to walk in with togc gear and clear the whole thing. I also donât want to be in there for 2 raid nights a week while everyone has to relearn 15 year old bosses.

Theyâre reasonably hard in TOGC gear regardless of how old they are.
Mike Tyson in Mike Tysonâs punchout is 36 years old. You can watch tons of videos on it. He will still destroy you until you learn it.
Assuming something should be easy because itâs old is stupid. So stupid, stop saying it.

The content isnât that difficult compared to current wow. Doesnât mean Iâll down heroic lich king even within this month as I only GDKP.
I just donât want to spend 10 hours a week per alt waiting for people to learn each HM fight when the old system was gated giving you a chance to learn each wing.

That data is only for publicly uploaded logs, says it at the top.
Beef Bar is pretty notorious about not publicly logging during PTR, nor do they live log the actual World First race. And they were Classic World First T7 and T8.
But sure Iâll admit I was wrong in saying that it has been killed.
But itâs just as wrong to say it hasnât.
Only Blizzard has the real Data and they wonât say.
Streamers wouldnât like it. Thus⌠it wont happen. They wouldnât be able to start selling invincible in totally legit gdkps for a million gold as fast.

I think the biggest thing is if H LK is killed thereâs a server announcement. There may be no log, but it would have been reported.
Yeah youâre right, but do Server First achievements appear on PTR?
Not sure on that, but if they do then yes that would be proof if it hasnât.
