ICC gated release schedule

Self-control is an issue for some.

Its there. It…must be run! Me personally, I set goals. I wanted 72 in cta av. I dinged that and said I am done. I had early access to star field, I played that. I can get that DK’s final 8 some other time.

Or its ye old the other dudes will get more done.

Okay…some people have 2 hours to play, some have 20. welcome to gaming. 20 hours “wins”. Whatever that means in pixel land.

I will go back to work tomorrow and a dude will have no life’d star field and regal with me tales of mid to end game from no life 3/4 weekend long play.

Good for him if that made him happy.

I did IRL fun stuff and CTA av’d a dk to 72. and then enjoyed my time in star field my way. I will play 1000+ plus over the years. I didn’t need to have 50+ of them in a 3/4 day weekend alone lol.

I was speaking just for normal, if it takes you a full night to clear 3 bosses on old solved content you are in the minority

imo, the outcry would be brief, and then no one would care. but you’re right, plenty of the “gate it yourself” responses.

you don’t speak for everyone playing the game. so far every one of the hard no responses like this that i’ve been able to look up (not posting from a 70 alt) have multiple 95-99% parses. you all are not the majority, you are the top 5% of the sweatiest. and i dont think we should be timing raid releases around only your play style alone.

you may be right on this, but personally I think more like 50%. and definitely more if the 5-30% buffs come in sooner. I think all but a small fraction will be able to kill lk on normal within the first month and you only need one person in the raid to switch it to heroic. Even with the requirement i’d think nearly every raid after the first 2-3 weeks will have at least one person to swap to heroic for lootship at least.

Says who?

Because Blizzard most certainly didn’t say that nor promised that.

In case you want your citation. Read here:

so clearly i am not at your level – but people in my range of skill, amount of content cleared, and average parses being in the 40-70% range are practically by definition not in the minority. This is how the majority of people perform. If we were all parsing over 95%, half of the sweatlords would then have grey and green parses.

and im not saying it would take a full night, maybe though. remember were talking about week one here. and gating to add 2-3 additional weeks and by then im sure we would all have more things on farm. maybe you didn’t read my post. i did say first wing (4 bosses) and then next week (or 2) plague and blood which would be another 3 or 6 bosses. progressing on 7-10 heroic (or even normal) 25 man bosses over 2 weeks is not something trivial to fill out a 3 hours/2 nights per week raid schedule.

I love all the people calling you out for wanting an original classic release saying uhhhmm acktually…

I’m sure they’re all for no RFD as well lmao, very hypocritical lol

I like the idea of a gated period, albeit a shorter one to pad the content, people just steam roll it and then leave for other games, we need things to keep people playing.

It also make the lich king feel more of a big bad guy as you had to wait and fight your way up over weeks to get to him.

You dont need to be a parse lord to not struggle with 1 or 2 mech bosses and a 4 button rotation. Its classic its solved its easy you are def in the minority

There’s basically noone who benefits from time gating the wings which is why it was so massively unpopular. It doesn’t matter if you’re not super hardcore all time gating does it removed options, just because all the content is available doesn’t mean your guild has to change it’s raiding schedule.

It is exactly that simple though.
If your guild has a problem with trying to rush through the content, just don’t?

Neither do you asking for time gating.

If the only way to get people to keep playing is by denying content then that’s a bigger issue.

It was unpopular to do it this way in 2009/2010 and it’ll be infinitely less popular in 2023/2024.
The entire expansion was building up to fight him, you don’t need extra time gating in the instance itself.

There is no world where artificially delaying the Lich King fight makes any sense. If you want to put him off to make him feel “special” you have the freedom to do that. “It keeps people playing week to week” no it doesn’t, if people are just playing to beat the Lich King and then logging off forever, all delaying that does is make them play 30 minutes a week to down each boss and then log off until reset

Depends on when they want to end wotlk. Adding a month before LK can be killed is another month of play before they release ruby sanctum. Nobody is going to quit during the first month if there’s a delay on LK.
If they don’t gate the raid they definitely don’t need to add the 5% buff stacks.

Nope. My guild was the 355th to clear ToGC in this region which doesn’t even put us in the top 10%.

Nope. I would put money on most people not wanting their content gated and drip fed to us after months in a tiny 30 minute raid.

Nobody killed HLK on the PTR I don’t know why you would make that up.

Is he killable? Maybe, but he was not killed.

Yeah, they should’ve totally made us do normal ToC week 1. That would’ve been so awesome and authentic.

Correct.

This is the problem. You and many others panic over little information that you’re scouring for. Calm down. No one knows what will happen. Stop the panic. Phase 4 is not yet released and you’re already stirring the pot in this thread.

You only speak for yourself. Period. You do not speak for anyone else. Full stop. I don’t care what you “put your money on” - that does not matter.

The fact that you’re here nit picking and replying to each and every thread that you disagree with and claim that you’re not some sweaty hardcore player is absolutely hilarious and is flat out a lie.

You are 100% trying extremely very hard to control your own narrative here and while you’re failing - it is completely obvious and laughable.

I’ve barely been posting about it at all, and how in anyway am I going to be labeled a “hardcore” player? I play two characters, this Holy Paladin for 2 hours a week and my Blood DK that I DPS on for maybe 4 hours a week.

No, what REALLY doesn’t matter is the opinion of someone hiding on a retail account. Speaking more about an opinion that doesn’t matter:

lol.

No it shouldnt, thats why its a re-release and not the original game. Times change, so get with it or get lost

I think most people are remembering ICC with the 30% buff, since that was in for a long long time back in the day.

The realities of some of the fights without are that they’re not dropping all that quickly.

I will never forget that 30% buff…entirely because of one very specific run that was going very well for the server it was on, only to be ruined at the 4th boss because someone threw a tantrum that they didn’t get Deathbringer’s Will and turned it off then left the raid
