Then why are you complaining? You got the kill pre-buff? Cool. Someone else getting the kill post-buff changes nothing for you.
Yeah again thanks for taking no time to understand my position, instead making one up and putting it in my mouth.
Respectful? HA
Oh yeah thats real respectful while also trying to call me stupid because I apparently dont understand your point that you fail to put across.
Reported and ignored. Real mature and respectful from you. Keep failing… brother.
They are complaining and calling other people stupid and losers because they want to be special. Thats it. Just report the toxicity, put them on ignore and move on. They dont have a valid position.
If you can’t find 25 people that agree with your playstyle preference, I question its validity. I find it odd that the buff is supposedly a huge problem, but at the same time it is supposedly impossible to find 25 people that will turn the buff off.
Hot take: They should have added the buff IMMEDIATELY after the first three guilds did it. Gold, Silver and Bronze. Give them achievements then add the damage scaling buff. Then we can all do the same damage as them and you don’t have progress to say that we need to keep waiting until we get him because we have been so close for the past 4 weeks.
Us plebs need MASSIVE numbers.
If you want to complete on WCL then you need to agree to their rules. If they allow the buff, then that’s the rules. Either agree to them or don’t compete.
Everyone is being given a hammer so the competition is still going to happen. Its just a competition with a buff. Or you remove the buff and you compete against those that did it without the buff. Its still there so whining and complaining that the competition isnt there when its still a fair playing field just isnt a valid argument.
So then adding the buff shouldn’t effect you, since you have already cleared the content. Don’t want to reclear with it turn it off.
A simple right click can fix this problem and yet here you are
tldr. turn off the buff or stop crying
beefydots where in this thread have you been respectful of other people’s position and where do you get the idea that other people are going to be respectful of your position when you don’t demonstrate an understanding and a respect for their position.
I don’t think that you understand how it sounds to other people when you start off by saying what you think the “best” choice is during a discussion about perspective and personal values. I don’t think that reacting to how people interact with you by telling them they are uncaring or that their brains are fried and their points are dumb is a great strategy to recruit the understanding and care that you are asking for.
Could you help me understand what you mean when you say that the option to change the difficulty within a game is not fun? I know this will sound judgmental and like I’m trying to be right about something. Part of what I am hearing is that a huge percentage of people play this game to compete on warcraft logs, a 3rd party sanctioning body, in essence. The buff kills that competition because now all the bosses are like, easier. You can turn off the buff but there’s no incentive to compete for heroic boss kills so no one will do it because most of the playerbase will either happily or reluctantly use the buff.
so the players that I’ve discussed this with that are interested in competition have said that WCL will be partitioning ranks around whether players are using the buff or not. This may just be a rumor and I can’t think of a way to prove that logs will still matter after the buff is implemented and that the competition there won’t be dead. I’m still confused about why it’s a foregone conclusion for you that the competition will die in a game where, as you’ve said, a “huge percentage” of people playing value competition.
I could also use some help understanding what the “best choice” means to you. In a discussion where you’re sharing what you think is best I think it’s important to know what percentage of players you’ve summated that want some teeth in a harder raid. “Best choice” indicates to me something we’ve arrived at by like getting on the same page as each other and talking about responsibility and like making choices aligned with our values.
They wont be able to answer for a while… because you know… banned most likely for being toxic.
But Ill answer it, they think the buff shouldnt happen and that the option to turn the buff off isnt actually an option… somehow.
Which they still can, the buff doesnt prevent this in any way shape or form because you can either compete with it on, or off.
Easier for everyone so the competition still stands and most people compete through damage output and what rank they get, again the buff doesnt prevent this from happening.
The accomplishment is the incentive, the fact you do it is the incentive but these people base what they do on other people caring what they do. No one cares if you do it with the buff turned off or on. No one cares what you do, its people wanting to be special, thats all it is. They are just part of the rank and file in the real world but in WoW they want to be somebody… but they arent.
Best thing to do, is just ignore the toxic people.
These people can turn off the buff. The buff has never been forced on people.
It all boils down to gatekeeping. They want to prevent “lesser” players from accessing and clearing the content. If a bunch of “scrubs” can clear the same content they did, their own accomplishments are somehow lessened. These are the same people that were opposed to RDF for similar reasons. If you can’t gear up in dungeons, then you can’t move on to raids. These are toxic people and shouldn’t be listened to.
That’s like asking the power company to turn the power off in your city so you can sleep at night.
Just turn the damn buff off.
That analogy is hilarious!
You folks are really sensitive over this topic lol. Anything that remotely smells like gatekeeping and you freak out.
I play a game called World Zero with my kids. It’s actually not a bad MMORPG on Roblox. Even little kids handle gatekeeping better than you folks.
Either you want a challenge or you don’t. If your raid won’t turn the buff off they didn’t want the challenge.
If they postponed the buff a few weeks the people in your 11/12 raid probably would just jump ship to a 12/12 raid anyway.
Because it’s not about the challenge, it’s about e-peen flexing and lording over “lesser” players.
