I used to use Questie as a metric for a while, but the recent uptick in the community hardcore and the official hardcore soured that data point for me.
Practically everyone used questie, and most people won’t download it more than once. So it was a pretty good metric that could stand alone for a while.

All they had to do was add 2 FoS for killing H LK without the buff. We could call it Ahead of Curve or Cutting Edge or something. I’m pretty sure 1 Blizzard employee could get that done during their lunch break.
But why do that when we can be a status quo warrior instead?

Icecrown Citadel is the final raid of Wrath of the Lich King expansion, and was released in patch 3.3. 0 on December 8, 2009 .
The first level of Strength of Wrynn was activated on March 2, 2010 - 1 month after The Lich King became available.
This buff was released at 5%, however it has increased in power over time.
In addition, the number of attempts on the final bosses of each wing and the Lich King allotted raid groups on Heroic difficulty has been increased to 35.
(2010-03-02): Strength of Wrynn activated at 5%.
(2010-03-30): Strength of Wrynn increased to 10%.
(2010-04-27): Strength of Wrynn increased to 15%.
(2010-05-25): Strength of Wrynn increased to 20%.
(2010-06-22): Strength of Wrynn increased to 25%.
(2010-07-20): Strength of Wrynn increased to 30%.
Just did all the fact digging to help compare.
Mind we already have 50 attempts on Classic.
And every 2 weeks is twice as fast as original run.

Doesn’t seem like clear burn off due to difficulty to me. Ulduar went on way too long for one, and Naxx saw far larger weekly player drops than Ulduar. You could say it was the holidays, but the holiday season for previous years did not see the same drop in players.
First holiday in the chart 12-22 2019, literally has about a 40% drop off, just estimated on sight. Are you seriously going to say raid numbers aren’t effected by holidays? Nax had a 2week dip that is instantly restored after the holidays.
I don’t think it’s trolling. He’s just…losing his self-identity and ability to hold his head over other players.
Look, I think it’s great if players want to push themselves in really challenging content. Some people enjoy that. I’m impressed by such things. I’m not capable of it.
But what I’m not impressed by is someone who comes to the forums saying people want welfare epics, don’t want to work for anything, they suck, they’re cringe bad players, they’re lower skilled players. That’s not impressive. That’s just sad and pathetic. A true legend doesn’t need validation and doesn’t care what other players are doing which has no impact on them. To take the kind of attitude he has is pitiful.

did still says that you think holidays don’t have an impact. ofc nax was going to have a larger impact it had the most players. That’s how numbers work…
The fact it bounces back the very following week shows it was the holidays.
That’s not what I said. Of course the holidays has an impact. But the % drop in players does not match previous holiday seasons. Also, let’s not forget these numbers are juiced because more people could run on their alts during Naxx. People did way less alt runs when you couldn’t burn through an entire raid in an hour like Naxx. IMO you can’t reasonably say with the data we have that difficulty caused the drop in players. What we can say is that with gear and practice players were able to clear content. Week 1 Algalon had 42 kills, by week 14 we had 5600. And every hard mode outside of Yogg 0 was killed by 50% or more of raids by week 14. By end of P2 (which wasn’t even the end of Ulduar) those numbers are absolutely higher. Seems like reasonable numbers to me for the hardest content in the game. Not everyone needs to clear the hardest content. We have normal modes.
progression is over even if you did kill HLK at this point you have enough gear from weeks of raiding that you’re just getting a freebee handout consolation welfare epic that has no meaning because you didnt work hard enough to do it when it mattered.
Tell me why does your guild deserve the handout of getting extra time to prog LK when your previous posts make it clear you are against HANDOUTS!?!

I remember this being the same when it happened in the original game. Guilds who were still finishing the last hard modes had to rush to try to finish them before the buff.
True Classic experience!

Gear is literally for prog, what kind of stupid post is this???
Infact 30% buff is more than gear could ever ever give you going from 264 and some 277 to full 277.
This is literally how progression raiding works lmfao.

Blizzard: We messed up by nerfing SSC-TK too quickly and have learned for the future. (Nerfed after 90 days)
Also Blizzard: We are now nerfing World of Warcraft Classic’s crown jewel raid! (Nerfed after 54 days)
Let’s be real, Heroic Lich King is a really difficult fight. But there are so many options to do this better.
Option 1: Add this ramping buff to normal mode only. (Gatekeeping content isn’t cool, but normalizing difficulty results in boring, pointless content where no one wins)
Option 2: Add this 5% buff only when standing foot on Lich Kings throne. Assess after to see how much this influences progression and see if a larger buff is needed later. (Lich King heroic is really tough. The other bosses are totally doable with coordination by most decent players. More gear will make this much easier over time.)
Imagine any sort of finesse. These heavy handed nerfs are beyond lazy. Blizzard never learns.
I think this buff is good overall, What devs should do now is to put an option so u can choose the % of the buff you want to have. With this you can clear the others 11 Bosses faster to progress Lich king H with whatever % buff you want (the highest if needed) and each next weak u can down it 5% buff so u can finaly say “I killed Lichking with no buff” thats it.
Terrible decision, congratulations.
Just remember, believing in blizzard is optional
Playing blizzards version of WoW is optional
Yes Aggrend is on the record on video for admitting this. It’s on a Sarthe video covering Ulduar from early this year.
