I would have jumped on this in a flash. Seeing the Horde and Alliance have a competition to see who can contribute the most resources for no reward, just bragging rights, while they cooperate to rebuild the areas razed by the Scourge would have been incredible.
I mean it’s not blighted. It’s just kinda…burning. And full of ghouls and zombies. I’m not quite sure why it’s still standing even years later, but hey, that’s an entire city to rebuild. NO PLAGUE CLEAN REQUIRED.
According to the EK lore book, apparently it’s still standing cause of all the people like Argent Crusade. I guess they’re doing their best to keep that city from totally falling apart.
Why does it require any consequences in Azeroth? The world should be restoring rather than watch it get more destruction and unrepairable. But if people want to see it still be in desecration, that should be chronological instance where you should ask the NPC to take you back.
Oh yeah. So basically instance will be removed, people will see it as Neutral faction city owned by Argent Crusaders, where you can pick up your rewards for restorations.
Please I would love things like this to do. Kind of the like the legion invasions, but instead of everyone stopping something happening we do things to reverse something that’s already happened.
This would be a great idea going forward with one note: no more Zidormi.
We don’t need to Zidormi anything that’s currently Zidormi’d, and they shouldn’t be afraid now that they can “preserve” some past things with this Classic path they’re taking (and that could help make those alternative more popular). If anyone new ever wonders what it means to “Zidormi” something, that’s part of the issue too. The world should just be the world.
There needs to be consequences in the game, it should change over time. We should be able to visit Darnassus how it truly is, designed appropriately burnt, flying there to see extreme+chilling detail for art purposes.
And it would be beautiful. Would make the game more epic, not nearly as stale. There’s tons of opportunity for future expansions to revisit old areas, and update them, but dear god no more Caverns of Time, no more Zidormi.
I’d imagine that would take a lot of resources though… so maybe in chunks? They plan things extremely far ahead so this may or may not already be something they have in motion but please… no Zidormi… it’s okay, just destroy the past stuff. Clinging on to it doesn’t make it any less forgotten or unseen.
Like this campaign would also help restoring Darnassus/Teldrassil/Ashenvale too, as well as Gilneas/Lordaeron for both factions or one factions to hang out without feeling blighted/burned/destroyed. Same for Southshore/Durnholde and Theramore
The reconstruction definitely is a better gameplay and healthier system and it definitely would help the new/casual/alt/hardcore players to enjoy the content of post Shadowlands.
Regardless to say, the instance system would definitely help for those who would like to step back in time to do the old quests and instance dungeons.
