I would gladly pay $30 a month for Classic WoW

I recall a thread questioning paying a $15 a month subscription fee for an “Old Game”, but honestly, I’m fairly certain there are many of us that would be willing to double that at this point to have the game we love. Not to mention… it would quickly weed out those players that are “less than interested” in the game as it was.

Same. I would also pay for a nostalgic box collector thingy.

I doubt we are alone

Just send them 100 dollar checks every month. Say it’s from both of us.

So would I, 100%.

I’ll be giving them 45 bucks a month paying for three accounts regardless.

People who complain about FIFTEEN dollars a month for a hobby they will sink tens if not hundreds of hours into each month make no sense. What other hobby do you have that entertains you for that much time, for only 15 bucks a month?

Go see a movie, ticket and popcorn = 15 bucks. Over in less than 3 hours.

Go out to eat, easily spent 15 bucks. Over in 2 hours.

15 bucks on WoW sub. 4 weeks of unlimited playtime, some folks scream this is an outrage. They really just need to go mow their neighbors lawn if they can’t “afford” it.

Nice try Bobby Kotick.

On a real note, this is not a good idea. Classic being lumped in with retail in the subscription is the only option Blizzard had.

Imagine the subscriptions are separate. If classic is cheaper than retail, they will draw players away from retail and into classic, which makes retail look bad. If classic is more expensive than retail, they will basically be admitting that classic is a superior product, otherwise why else would we pay more?

The only other option is a flat box cost for classic. However with the staffing they need for tickets, support, reports, bans, sniffing out gold sellers, along with the continuous cost of servers, (remember this was a time before blizzard automated most of these issues) a flat box cost is not sustainable with no other source of income.

The only option Blizzard had was to attach it to the retail subscription. This boosts total WoW subscriptions and throws long term subscribers and people who enjoy both games a bone by combining them as one. By attaching classic to the subscription however, Blizzard must deliver on the true feeling of classic by avoiding automation and mechanics which are not of classic WoW but help to cut down on costs. If Blizzard takes too many shortcuts with Classic people may call the subscription into question. Until then, things are looking good. Don’t ask for both games to have separate subscriptions. They had to do it the way they did it.

Idk what my price would be… what my limit is…

I think after the 50$ per month mark, I think I would say no…

Cool. You can pay $30 and that gets you your sub and mine.

i complained about the sub but only because its linked with retail. it should be separate, you just know they are going to claim hey look we have 10million subs again!! as if retail is whats bringing people in.

In Australia, a pack of cigarettes is around $45. A pack a day smoker would save $1,335 a month if they were addicted to wow instead. Wow is cheap.

My gym charges new members upwards of $25 a week. Playing a healthy mmorpg instead of partaking in dangerous group exercise classes and weight training would save $85 a month.

For the privilege to use water in my own home it costs me $200+ every 3 months. If I disconnect my water and store bottles of my own urine and recycle it whilst playing wow, I save $61 per month.

All up, playing WoW could save you $1,481 and inevitable lung cancer. Also you’d never have to pay for travel because you wouldn’t have that job in the city costing you $160 a month to catch the train.

The average forum poster is going to be more engaged and probably more willing to pay than the rest of the masses.

Would you rather push out players who are “less than interested”, as you put it? Because that seems crazy to me. The more the merrier.

right but thats aussie money. that $45 for a pack of smokes is like what, 0.15 USD? I mean, with how games workshop prices their models over there it fits.

nah, average wage here is like 80k. But the people who generally smoke don’t make that sort of coin

No, this is actually the worse thing they could have done. Classic servers are not like retail servers. In retail you can have 20 people on a server, and it isn’t noticeable because of CRZ and sharding. On Classic the server population is very important to the game because we do not have and do not want those things. By combining the games, you invite casuals and tourists that provide little to the Classic server community. Classic servers will likely contain a large number of retail players that only play when they are done with their BFA dailies and are just killing time/messing around.

I think the best option would have been a box cost, with combined sub. Currently a sub gets you access to Legion, BFA box gets you access to BFA, Classic box should get you access to Classic. I would however offer separate free Classic servers to BFA players to prevent tourists from messing with the actual Classic servers.

I would happily pay $60 plus a sub to play. There would still be some turnover, but not nearly as bad as we will see under the current launch plan.

I would happily pay triple for no sharding and buy a collectors edition.
also make some classic merch blizz the one time I wanna throw money at you and you are holding back.

They get enough money
Anything over $15+tax is a no go from this cheap skate. They milk players daily. Let them milk someone else.

I would never pay more than the original cost of the game subscription (or industry standard). Especially for a rehash of an existing game with next to zero support.

In all honesty this game should be less than 15 a month, possibly even free with a low one time fee attached to it. The only reason they will get 15 is because its attached to the retail client as well.

Right, because running and maintaining staff, hardware, and servers are free.
