I would gladly pay $30 a month for Classic WoW

What staff? They just cut CMs. There will be next to no ingame support, hence loot trading. Servers/hardware already being maintained by retail staff. 15 is generous for what you are receiving.

How much do you think buying and maintaining new hardware for Classic servers that support millions of players is going to cost? Hence loot trading? Did you not see the news about Loot trading last week? How Blizzard decided to not rely on those automated systems (which you seem to think also operate for free).

The CMs they cut were almost entirely HOTS, SC2, Overwatch, and Hearthstone related. WoW was barely touched. Almost all those jobs were dead weight as none of those games did in Esports what Blizzard was hoping they would.

A game I will literally sink hundreds of hours into every month? Yeah, I’d say only costing 15 bucks a month, especially when I don’t have to buy the game again, is quite generous on Blizzard’s end.

Pro-tip: It wouldn’t seem condescending if you knew what you were talking about.

You dont know how much it costs to maintain servers. Im sure now days it can be done with very few people. They are still allowing loot trading for raids. CMs company wide were hit, remember Ythisens? Just google about it and youll have all the news articles you can handle.
Glad you will sink hundreds of hours in it, 15 a month is plenty for an existing game with zero new content.

I actually do know. It’s not even remotely cheap. The fact you say this proves you don’t know what you’re talking about.

Name me literally one other WoW person other than Sakaar who was fired without looking it up. I bet you can’t name one. Almost all the support staff that was let go, were let go from the games I listed above. Again, I’ll say, WoW was barely touched. Those same exact news articles that you mention, along with the Tweeter, are the same ones where I learned what type of CMs was laid off.

I know for a fact running servers is very expensive. Running those automated systems is expensive. It’s not nearly as cheap as you are assuming it to be.

It’s obvious that you like to make assumptions. Your assumptions do not match reality. This doesn’t surprise me from someone who wants something literally for

Pro-tip: Assumptions are the mother of all fun-ups.

Enjoy overpaying for things in life.

Enjoy continuing to talk about things you’re actually clueless on.

You’re literally guessing about things, and making assumptions without sure knowledge on the topic you’re discussing, so much that you’re arguing your assumed points that you have literally no evidence or first hand experience with.

And now you’re actually dodging the debate because it’s clear who knows the facts, and who doesn’t.

I’m shocked.

Well you have provided no proof other than “i know”. I never said i knew how much it cost so not sure where you think this is a debate. My statement is I feel there is no value beyond 15 a month. If you do, great. Thats really all this needed to be but you had to have more. Whatever makes you feel good about yourself. If you feel you have proved me wrong, awesome, great job champ. In reality you haven’t posted any facts either other than what “you know”. Probably best to just let this one die here before you talk yourself into a hole.

Whether its 30 or 15, its not a lot of money for the amount of entertainment it provides. The real cost in online gaming is how much our computers and internet cost!

With this positive attitude from players, it’s time to raise the sub fee a bit to cover the cost of server and let Blizz upgrade them, instead of using sharding.

The really cool thing about the truth and reality of how things are, is that they are that way regardless of if you believe it or not. You should use that google machine you mentioned earlier. It’s time for you to ask yourself “what if my assumptions are wrong?”

Zarriya on point here. This is also true from Blizzard’s standpoint.

I’m low key okay with this.

I really don’t give two squirts about how much things cost Blizzard.

If I am getting what I consider value for my money then I will pay it.

That said, make it $49.95 a month. That’ll show those filthy tourists!

YES! Let’s start a petition.

Nah ill just wait for you to show me proof. I mean “you know”. So it shouldnt be hard to show some facts

That you will. Have fun.

$60 buy in + sub. Sub can be combined for all I care. I’m also in support of BFA tourists getting free Classic servers…separate from those who buy in.

I’m really looking forward to classic, but I’m a realist. Launch as they have planned is going to be a steaming pile of garbage due to tourists and retail trolls. I will be surprised if servers retain half their population after the first week.

If I had to pay $30/month sure. But I wouldn’t want that since it would stop some IRL friends from playing and further reduce the community.

I could afford $30 a month to play only Classic. I wouldn’t pay it though.

They should have bundled all of the games into the wow subscription. Otherwise how would people know of them and get a chance to play them?
