I won Onslaught Girdle in a SR PUG!

Hello Fellow Travelers,

It’s Boonja here, just wanting to report my incredibly fortuitous experience in Classic WoW anniversary edition. I joined this SR PUG after four painful weeks of getting no loot in Molten Core with my guild (tank prio / LC slurpfest). I was gonna be out of town for my guild raid, so I joined this 2x SR hybrid guild/PUG run.

I used both my SRs on Onslaught Girdle and BRE (PvP around the corner you know!), and of course it drops! My hands are sweating at this point as the raid leader did all the loot from Sulferon before the Rag loot.

I just want to preface, for this raid, I used no world buffs, zero consumables, but I generally tried my best to do damage where I could!

Here is a shining example of why SR is GREAT! All you have to do is get a little LUCKY.

The End.

Good for you, its also why I would never join a pug SR run

Soft-reserve is a very fun loot system that should be more common.

I’m not sure why so many players are afraid to just play their dice roll.

You’re not going to lose forever, the RNG balances out over time if you just keep showing up.

Another reason to join a SR! They repel tryhards like this guy.

I mean, I don’t want to play with grey parsers mess up 1 button rotations so I guess it works out for both of us

I don’t want to play with anyone who thinks everyone in a SR is a grey parser. Of course, I don’t want to play with anyone who thinks that parses matter in MC to begin with. So yes, win win!

Parses don’t matter after 50, but below 50 you are actively doing things to hurt your raid. I also don’t think everyone in Sr’s are grey parsers, just the ones who win the loot are

So everyone who wins loot doesn’t deserve it. That’s logical.

Anyone who contributes to the raid should have a chance at loot in SR, I just don’t want to be in an environment where people who don’t put in any effort to help the team reap the rewards of the teams work.

i couldn’t be happier for you man :expressionless: grats

grats my guy

I remember losing Deathbringer on my Warrior to a fresh level 60 Warrior bottom of the DPS meter in quest gear type.

I stopped playing that Warrior after that.

I’ll still join SR runs though.

that would only bug me if i was in an LC guild and expected them to reward good players :expressionless: if it was just a random roll then whatever

Loot distribution through SR is simply not performance-based, and that’s okay.

For a long time it was the norm for runs to just be decided by dice roll because it was commonly understood that it’s fine for casuals to win gear occasionally.

People shouldn’t have to be sweaty just to be eligible for upgrades. Lots of players start out playing poorly and then are able to vastly improve over time as they learn more about gear, stats, and rotation.

Plus it’s equally as common for the top-performing players to occasionally win their SRs. There is no gatekeeping with loot in SR runs, and that’s why it gained popularity.

If you want to play with a parse team where loot eligibility is determined by performance, then that’s understandable if that’s your raid teams’ goal, but that just isn’t what SRs are designed for.

SRs are meant to have an equal-opportunity effect. If you showed up, you get a /roll when your item drops.

I have been doing nothing but SR runs and don’t really have any problems with them so far, I don’t intend to giga tryhard classic a 2nd time right now and even the mediocre runs aren’t bad. One of the runs I found is a gdkp on era but an SR on anniversary and the runs have been basically identical to the era runs except we roll items

That’s because SR is the best loot system.

GDKPers aren’t gonna like your story. They are salty.

Good for you.

I also have gone for SR raids because the LC guild I was in basically just HRs the best items for a small group of 10-15 officers despite everyone coming in full consumes and flasks and preforming just as well.

Officers get bis first, then they outperform other people (WHAT A SURPRISE), so they use that as an excuse to get bis first next phase too.

In 2025, LC is just HR for raids. No thanks.

I’d rather take my chances with the RNG gods. At least i have a chance.

Yep, all loot council guilds are scams.

Performance based loot distro is the worst possible way to award loot in classic.

These people are just rigging the system so they can funnel themselves loot.

Never join a loot council guild.

Lol imagining logging a joke 40man raid that you can clear with 25 hunter pets …

Very common story. LC is the most abused loot system
