I wish I could live in WoW instead of IRL

I really feel that the world (or universe for that matter) that WoW is set in is better than our own real life world. I just feel with all the needless conflicts going on in some parts of the world and the divisive politics and the pandemic going on, not to mention some stupid social, political, and cultural trends going on that makes me sick.

I think living in a place like Azuremyst Isle, Pandaria, Grizzly Hills to name a few would really help me find some spirituality and harmony that I think is really lacking in the real world. I think that many people irl lack a sense of spirituality, sense of peace and calmness, that people are too busy consuming commercialized junk or jumping into radical social, political, and cultural bandwagons that don’t help our current problems, not only exacerbate them.

Yes, I know that the World of Warcraft has far worse problems than we do, like zombies (scourge), demons (burning legion) and cosmic horror creatures (old gods and the void lords) and endless conflict and wars (hence the name Warcraft) I think there is a sense of optimism, hope, and peace that I think many people in the so-called “civilized world” in real life would do anything to live in the wonderful fantasy world.

I know for a fact for all of us, WoW is our escape from the horrors of reality in IRL and that many players would go to nice quiet and tranquil places (like the places I’ve mentioned in the second paragraph) to calm down and enjoy peace. I just think that I would rather have invasions by a large army of zombies, a legion of demons, and underground cosmic horror monsters than have to deal with the stuff we’re in right now.

I’d so be a mage that could teleport everywhere, and I’d get me some fine VE, Draenei, and NE hotties for company. oh yesh.

The reality of WoW I think would be terrifying. Gnolls making tents from human skins, demons torturing and tormenting, the constant psychological attacks on your mind from old gods, the constant attempts at genocide and world destruction by various powers, suffering mortal wounds only to be resurrected only to suffer the pain of horrific death again?!

Nope.

I can’t tell if you’re describing WoW or the real world here.

lol, so you would rather just go around killing everything and everyone or being killed

I would take ten years of that nitwit Trump as God-Emperor if it meant that I would forever avoid having the Earth stabbed by an enormous fire god’s planet-sized sword.

Well I could just like in like Azuremyst Isle or Grizzly Hills, places that have zero involvement with global conflict and I can just go to a hill and meditate.

You would exchange one set of problems and issues for another.

Even Valinor in the lord of the rings universe had problems, and that was considered the most ideal of places to be.

Well I hear the North Pole is kinda remote and quiet…

You can do that in real life if you want to.

But Azuremyst Isle doesn’t exist irl. But Grizzly Hills does exist, it is the Pacific Northwest. I guess I could go live a cabin in the Olympic peninsula and avoid contact with the outside world.

Given the rate at which world threatening events occur, Azeroth seems like not the best place to live.

Maybe Draenor?

Not me. It wasn’t that bad really, we got all those cool powers from the resulting Azerite. And it could be a cool new tourist attraction.

But you live in one of the most peaceful comfiest eras in human history.

IMO the world is what you make it. If you view the world through hate-tinted glasses, and are always trying to find the offense in everything, then it’ll be a pretty scary place. Try seeking out the good, turn off the news, stop reading social media, and maybe even stop to smell the roses once in while. You might find the real world isn’t so bad after all. Spread the love.

Better then irl? Buddy we would be in constant war everyday! With that being said I’d be a Druid so why not be in WoW?

It’s funny how most people don’t understand just how brutal and savage life on Azeroth actually is because we play an OP hero. You couldn’t pay me to switch to WoW from irl.
