I remember the huge controversy around the BF2 launch, but the fact that they included a solid campaign in a game after claiming “Single player is dead” was a huge turning point. And the loot box thing actually ended up doing more good than harm for the industry by shining a harsh light on how out-of-control micro transactions were. They are still bad, but definitely more tolerable than they used to be, in my opinion.

Disney is known for taking other’s stories and watering them down into predictable, digestible bites. They’re also too big and don’t need to own anything else.
Activision doesn’t own blizzard. Activision-blizzard owns blizzard and activision and king. I don’t see disney ever buying them. And even if they did, I don’t see it going well for the various franchises that are produced by them.

Just think of all the movie tie-ins. I watched the Sonic the Hedgehog movie (Paramount release) and played guess the tie-ins or product placements for Disney products and services lol. But you’d expect any company to be gun shy when considering paying $70 billion+ for a video game company.
A huge foreign company like Tencent would probably have been more prone to take that kind of risk but the anti-China rhetoric by the current U.S. gov’t probably nixes that possibility for years maybe decades.

ummm disney has not done well with video games, they got rid of the lucas studios something george enjoyed a bunch as it gave him an ability to expand the starwars stories.
You know what Disney isn’t known for? Great games. Lucas Arts used to be. Disney? Not so much. I don’t think they think video games are a good thing.

As much as I hate to admit it…yes. that was the first mmo I ever played. It was entertaining until max level, as they had one “dungeon” and that was it.
