Given most of the topics in the forum, I can see why they don’t.
they talk on twitch go there if you really want to communicate with them and most the criticism i see them getting here is kind of deserved.
Maybe the reason people are that way is because they can only handle so much BS before it spills over into this type of behavior. How many times have people given Blizzard well thought out feedback and in return are given the middle figure?
Yeah that is a great idea, lets just talk to the 1% of the players not the playerbase as a whole.

To be fair, i think it’s only like that because everyone feels like they’re talking to a brick wall, even Blizzard’s handpicked softball throwing team gets very little in the way of facetime, how the hell are we expecting to be heard? lol

Yoshi-P and the FFXIV team regularly stay in touch with their community, respond to feedback, ask people what they want or what they think, and those forums have people mistreating them too.
When you run something as big as an MMO, you have to be able to communicate. You’re building an experience meant to last years, and WoW has gotten too comfy with the fact that people play it regardless while clamoring to improve the sub count. Shadowlands shouldn’t have happened the way it did and this would’ve easily fixed that.

I certainly don’t. Ghostcrawler talked to us all the time over a decade ago and people eviscerated the guy and the other devs on a daily basis. The same kind of vitriolic stuff they’re saying about Ion, now. Nothing ever changes

I got a 1 day Forum Ban for telling the truth about one of their developers. No, I did not name names.
Did not take very long.
Didn’t Ghostcrawler also have quite the reputation for bringing that smoke back on the people that trolled him?

Remember when Blizzard announced that the community council was created to bridge the gap between the developers and the community and said they would be talking to us about the game and talking to us on the forums here? But no they dont ever go over to the community council and post there. They post on GD just as much as they do over there which is next to zero posts. Back 10+ years ago, these forums used to be filled with blue posters. Now we are lucky if we get one a week. And most of the Community Council is snide and out of touch with the rest of us anyway. Maizou is the only member of the Community Council that I like and most of the other treat Maizou pretty bad so…
We were all lied to. WoW devs were supposed to talk to the CC and CC was in turn supposed to talk to us… none of that happened.

I believe their goal is to get rid of official forums completely. They would rather use third party media because it can be more controlled without pushback on them. I doubt Diablo 4 will even have an official forum. Just watch.
