It has proven to have a 100% success rate of being misused already is the amusing part. There is no world where it won’t be abused simply due to the fact that what is right or wrong is inherent to perception, subjectivity, and personal bias. Social systems like this are nothing more than oppression tools to express power over someone else. Do as I think you should do or suffer consequences.

What “do dumb things” means is up to the person(s) making the report(s). Somebody could think your name is dumb and have their guild mass report you. They don’t need a valid reason, it’s all up to what they think is acceptable. What you think is a valid reason is just your word against theirs, and they have more numbers than you.
I really don’t understand why I’m even writing this since I know the people who need to understand this never do. However if history has told me anything, it’s always the ones who say ‘oh just don’t do X and everything will be fine’ that end up getting burned by this sort of system yet they never see the danger. All they see is a cute way to be ‘above’ others ‘hee-hee I never get reported cause I’m not a poopyhead like you! Just do what I say and you’ll be fine!’ Five minutes later ‘WAAAH I GOT REPORTED FOR NO REASON HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN I WAS SUPPOSED TO BE THE ONE DECIDING THE CRITERIA TO REPORT PEOPLE BY’.
Give people the keys for a screw over and you’re gonna have more screws than a sale at a hardware store.

QFT. I asked them several times now to define actionable causes, and crickets. They refuse to define toxicity even though the developer listed it as a bannable offense. It’s 100% subjective.
It gets even worse because reports seem to add players without review or actual evidence from a discord bot. Yet, you need evidence and an appeal to remove yourself.

the thing is, i have this problem recently where i have no idea if people are doing things like this on purpose, because i view it as impossible to argue so hard for terrible things and not see the bad side, as if part of them are just acknowledging that they want what they care least about to screw off as long as they get what they want

All this thread has shown me is how much we need to teach critical thinking in schools. The amount of people who are just for something without thinking about unintended or poor consequences makes me sad. I always expect too much out of my fellow humans, and I am nearly always let down.
