Hey OP, if no one else tells you: Proud af of you completing your masters, Congrats!
I feel similarly about the announced changes in that I’m not excited for them, I do not find them helpful and I believe these changes represent a giant step backwards.
I am starting to think Blizzard creatively bankrupt and mechanically incompetent.
In that case, that is their fault. I would use the queue-time to go farming, do dailies, go questing, just go exploring, or even hop on a dragon and have a drunken-dragon-ride!
So, to be clear, you are in favor of LFD then?
Correct, my Masters is NOT in writing or English.
Thank you very much sir. You are the type of person I like to see playing this game.
i both like and dislike dungeon finder. in the like category -
first time i saw the inside of rfd, rfk, wc, sfk, rfc, maraudon, zf, sunken temple, magister’s terrace, arcatraz, botanica, mec, shatt halls, shadow labs, and all the northrend dungeons, was when RDF was added in og wotlk. i was amazed.
it made it possible to complete many achievements.
got a plethora of gear i might not have otherwise.
what i dislike about it -
removes the need for my services. i’m a booster. i typically dont charge. i leave it up to the person or just tell them its free. i boost my guildies all the time. we congregate on my discord and just run run run level level level. its fun, sociable and creates friends. RDF only succeeds at that if you have somehow impressed one another.
correct me if wrong, but did they put the quests at beginning of wotlk dungeons? cause many players end up having no idea where the dungeon is in the game world. thats like a lobby game.
Age of Conan, Eve Online, Everquest, Everquest II, Guild Wars, Maple Story, Lord of the Rings Online, Runescape, Star Trek Online, Star Wars the Old Republic, and many more decade old MMO’s some older than WoW would like to challange your assumption
You just have to be patient. They will 100% reverse the dungeon finder decision in p2 or p3 to combat dying servers and bleeding subs. It may even happen sooner depending on how far off Blizzard’s bean counters are in their predictions.
They are going off an old mindset about vanilla being relaunched. We were against a LFD tool in classic because it wasn’t a part of classic. It WAS a part of wrath.
They are so disconnected it’s unreal. The person in charge of the classic progression has prob never played wow at those stages.
It’s embarrassing at this point that these guys still are in charge.
Oh no, blizzards out of touch, what else is new? Their ability to communicate is legendarily bad, and their ability to identify their missteps and address it is the only thing that rivals how awful their ability to communicate is.
I played Age of Conan, they released a really good fun expac that got players back into the game and then used that money… for their lego mmo… and then AoC lost players.
This is one of the main arguments in favor of adding RDF. If you do not charge, then you are in the minority if not the only one giving it away for free.
its possible to start a trend. just advert for tips, rather than a fee. if the person can afford to tip they will, if they cant afford, its free. blizz could add a bonus if you complete it at level in a level appropriate group, which would encourage players to form normal 5 mans. also wotlk has the first heirlooms, which consist of weapons, shoulders and trinkets. these have xp bonuses. and wotlk level squish increases xp gain even more. i think we could hold out long enough for them to finally include RDF, like original wotlk. it didnt start with RDF. that was added about half way thru, if i recall
How can you say that? TBC didn’t have a dark portal pass with an instant level 58, extra hearthstone and an ugly mount to boot with it. Classic lost the “classic” feeling by TBC and it is what it is. I’m fine without LFG, I can handle actually asking people to join my group. It’s really not that hard, if you’ve done it in Classic Vanilla and you did it in TBC, then you can do it again in wrath.
Well I have the best solution to emulate zero changes they will release it on the phase it came out which was ICC xD. Keep being mad I guess.
Edit: Also be big boys if you want to complain and post on your classic mains instead of hiding on alts.
The problem is that their decision making has not evolved, as they came to understand how people were ACTUALLY playing Classic and TBC Classic. It is nothing like OG WoW and OG TBC, and was never likely to be. Players have Discord now. They use the LookingForGroup channel. We have certain addons that just never existed in the original game. More players are raiding, and actually clearing the raids.
Classic and TBC Classic just aren’t the experience we though they were going to be when we advocated for them. But Blizz are continuing on with the same mentality they had going into this experiment. In Classic, it was #nochanges. In TBC Classic, it was #somechanges, but that was just to preserve the ‘Classic experience’, whatever that means.
But in all this they’ve lost sight of what they SHOULD be doing, which is making these games as fun to play as possible. The rest is, IMO, just epeen.
If they have, I haven’t seen where they’ve stated it. I still can’t figure out what possessed them to want to change it, let alone say they wanted to - without having a clear and articulated reason and vision for the changes. Their communication is … just plain bad.
Just a bad apple on the development team I’d bet. The 3 that are making decisions for WOTLK Classic have no business making any decisions for any iteration of the game.
