My subscription had run out last night during the launch. Unfortunately the timing is miserable since I had just cancelled my bank card due to fraudulent purchases a few days ago and am waiting for a new one. The virtual version my bank provided declined repeatedly so I went out and put some cash on a pre paid visa to buy game time. However, since this would be my first time buying game time I wasn’t aware it was $30 and only put $20 on my blizzard account for a WoW token. Now I’ve found that it’s impossible to actually buy the token without having a live sub. Also, my friends wanted to send me the gold but apparently gold in a mailbox isn’t counted. I researched similar issues and multiple posts says that GMs occasionally have figured out work arounds to this with players and was wondering if I could have something similar happen since this is only going to be a 1 time thing. I usually would wait but the new expansion and I want to play so badly =(.
But gold from mailboxes does count and was somewhat added recently. Are you sure you have enough gold in total (including mailbox) and that there’s a WoW token available to buy?
Gold attached to mail in characters’ mailboxes will also contribute.
It’s also cheaper to directly buy gametime, over buying a WoW token with cash then using it as gametime. Though you don’t have enough cash at the moment ofcourse for 2 months maybe later you will.
There are two types of tokens, Xanlira.
You buy one with cash - in this case, balance. Those are only for placing on the Auction House in exchange for gold.
The ones you buy off the Auction House for gold are the ones used for gametime.
You can, however, buy gametime with balance.
Can’t Set Up Subscription With my Battle.net Balance - Blizzard Support
Does that help?
