So, what you are saying is that dungeoning in WoW has no social value?
No. Iâm saying I run dungeons with friends or guild mates.
Just want to throw my 2 cents in, Iâve had very little issues with the group finder tool. Iâve formed groups as all roles for both normal and heroic dungeons, and also applied to groups and been accepted as all roles.
I feel that this iteration of LFM is mostly acceptable, though Iâd like to see a little bit more information able to be put in, such as âtrying for achievementâsâ, or âbadge farm onlyâ, etc. That way you can curate the group a bit better, without being able to sell carries or other things of that nature.
Whatâs disappointing is the LFG tool on the beta is not the shadowlands LFG tool with ilvl info removed. Itâs the TBC tool with the addition of the ability to see group composition, apply for groups, etc, but in a visually inferior way than the shadowlands LFG tool. Due to this, the LFG Bulletin Board addon is going to remain superior and itâll be what people use to find groups, not the LFG tool.
I was looking forward to seeing the shadowlands LFG tool on the WotLK beta, with ilvl info removed of course. Thatâs all they needed to do.
I agree. The shadowlands tool probably would be an acceptable trade out. I get some people want RDF, some are against it, but I havenât really seen a ton of blind joy over the new tool they are making which is really the bigger problem. If the tool was really good both camps probably could meet somewhere in the middle and be satisfied. The sad part is I think the new tools weaknesses will be a lot more glaring once they hit mega server sized populations instead of the much more controlled and more âunderstandingâ population of the beta.
The worse part is that the whole feedback loop on this seems to be VERY VERY hardcore ignored. Almost like an HR directive at Blizzard to not acknowledge it one way or the other.
Disagree. Almost everyone wants RDF, while a few tanks are against it because they want to
- Sell tank services.
- Cherry pick META dps
- Select dps that donât share their own armor type
+1
Isnât it funny how streamers have these experiences?
I think thatâs a potential bad idea cause In wrath gearscore was a thing. Having the tool like in SL will make it worse by not only cherry picking armor types but now and ilvl/gearscore as well. IMO
Almost everyone agrees gearscore and ilvl would be removed from the retail LFG tool.
As soon as you said almost⌠well⌠you pretty much agreed⌠SOME (1 or more) is against it. I want RDF. Obviously some donât. By my original statement and your disagreeing by agreeing. Kind of⌠well stupidly. But I get your point. RDF should be in the game. No reason it isnât. I have just come to the realization it wonât be. Blizzard seems more willing to ship a dead game (WONT HAPPEN BUT STILL) than to even view feedback on this.
Why even take dps at all? Just solo the dungeons with your essential role.
Wrong, how enjoyable the systems/changes are is also the point of a beta as long as feedback is given. If you are only giving feedback on bugs then you are doing it wrong.
Yea gearscore didnt always apply back then. Take TBC for instance, so many spriests were running around in greens because they were bis until like p3.
LFG is horrible sitting around for hours to get into a group, just put RDF back in the game and respect players time.
Makes a lot of sense. But we are still in the âthey know betterâ stage. With the people that blindly shill for them in the âhow do you know better stageâ.
All I can say is⌠exactly⌠how do I know better⌠I work as an electrician⌠and they work for the big bucks developing games yet somehow⌠some way⌠they find a way to pour gasoline all over it and burn it to the ground their way and just doing the obvious correct thing just doesnât happen.
It is what happens when you develop a game for your legacy or clout instead of the big easy one⌠you know⌠just focus on making a game to the the best game. Ego fuel sadly.
