I enjoyed DF and loving TWW…so Im good.
Why do people make these posts? Most of these whining forum troll posts boil down to the same point and it is as follows “game no longer triggers the recreation of a feeling from my past and doesn’t allow me to relive the past any more >:O” news flash, you will never get those days back and these posts look like you some of you should be in therapy or on medication idk.
Past is dead, look at classic wow, yeah each expansion release on classic was sick and a blast until about a month into phase 1 the goggles come off and you’re still an adult and the game was no better then than it is now. It’s a different game now, with plenty merit to stand on its own. I think the current state of retail is great and a blast and it’s obvious plenty of people feel the same way.
Next person who wants to make a post like this guy, do us all a favor and look at the hundreds of others tired same rehashed posts through out the years and just save it. Unsub. Throw your PC into a wood chipper it’s your life, live it, stop crying that you can’t relive your adolescence.
Then you’re going to wait for eternity.
Retail > Classic ANY day as you spent a ridiculous of time without new content back in the old days.
Couldnt even raid log so youd spend many many months sitting on BiS gear and that’s it. Thats not fun.
Your burnt out. Take a break.
The problem with WoW is that it’s entirely devoted to the most hyper casual people and the most hyper competitive people. The mythic raids are too hard for 99% of players. Doing high M+ keys is too hard for 99% of players. Everything below that is a joke with no challenge.
In large part I think this is because they gave every class the ability to do everything very efficiently. So to make a challenging encounter it has to have very complex mechanics, and often a bunch of one shot pass/fail mechanics that ignore your stats.
Vanilla had much better scaling being easy to learn and hard to master and more class interdependence.
Really sounds like you just don’t understand the game bud. If you don’t know the modern gameplay loops just say so
Today it guides you so much that not only is it theme park/hamster wheel, it’s a safe theme park for kids under 5. By that I mean it gives you so much direction and protection it’s not exciting.
By giving us so much in terms of ease they took away the pain and with it the accomplishment.
Yeah they basically made it literally impossible to fail at anything in the questing and outdoor zones. Everything is completely braindead. I can’t even remember the last time I saw anyone get close to dying. Or the flying quests where you bomb things, why? It’s so boring and no way to fail. These quests need timers or something to add some tension and fail conditions.
And then you go from that to hyper complex raids with 25 different mechanics including 4 one-shot mechanics if a single person messes up. They spend too much time worrying if limit is going to be challenged and not enough whether the median player is going to have fun. Vanilla raids were a good balance, there’s enough mechanics and fail conditions to make it interesting, but it’s approachable for most players. Good players can still min/max and do speed runs to compete with each other.
There’s a lot of wisdom in simple statement.
Convenience is the thief of satisfaction. I am definitely one of those old men yelling at the clouds. I wish people could understand that you only get out what you put in, and if everything becomes a foregone conclusion; then you’re not making memories… you’re living someone else’s.
Everything I don’t like is bad and you’re stupid for liking things I don’t.
Dude, grow up. You’re either depressed and burnt out from gaming, or you’re a troll because this entire thread is you just saying “everything was better when I liked it, now everything sucks because I don’t like it”
You’ve clearly outgrown video games if you see the plethora of amazing games out there and think “but it’s not Pre-Cata WoW where classes were hard to play (they weren’t Warlock was basically a 1-button rotation until Wrath and the HPally ‘bind everything to holy light’ advice was a meme for a reason) and content required thinking (it didn’t, Pre-Cata was braindead compared to the MMOs that came before it and is braindead compared to the later expansions and modern MMOs)”
Go outside, find a hobby that doesn’t require a screen and live your life, because whatever you’re doing now ain’t working.
So this is a phenomenon in Aesthetics. I loved when I discovered the band Rise Against and got a while their albums felt like they were getting better and better but their last few have felt kinda, “Meh” but they weren’t really doing anything different. I got into horror movies a decade ago and nothing will be like watching Alien for the first time but you get the occasional Scream or Saw that makes horror fun again, but like, by Saw 5 it’s boring again. The only aesthetic I haven’t noticed this in is spicy food.
It’s a crazy concept… But he might be just growing up I still enjoy video games but man I can’t play wow like I used to. Nothing to do with wow but entirely to do with how I value my time now…
It’s funny how completely people lack self awareness sometimes. We like to blame anything but ourselves.
Oh no, the game is still horrible and everyone involved in making it should be ashamed. It just seems that fire mage doesn’t outright put me to sleep, so far anyway.
Bought. Not merged. Activision was very much the one in control. They bought Vivendi, which Blizzard was under.
Tell me specific things that makes it hard.
… where?
This is a lazy copout answer people use to avoid responsibility. It’s not people growing up, it’s gaming becoming objectively worse in every way.
That’s all you got? Really? Pathetic.
Have you tried playing a different game while you’re playing WoW? Sometimes that helps. like log into wow, hit tab and then log into GW2 and play that.
Yeah, that’s the problem, pfft.
Haven’t done that one, but I do sometimes pull up a movie or something on another screen.
