I want to play WoW, but it's just not fun anymore

Me neither, tbh. Most I can do while playing is listen to music. I don’t even run a second monitor.

I’m pretty much always doing multiple things at once. Only time I’m not is if I’m doing a new story, or doing a raid for the first time, or I wanna parse well. :stuck_out_tongue:

if I distract myself even the slightest I go into cruise control.

3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 3, 1,3,3,3 and so on. The “I need to have a target” normally brings me back to the game.

are you seriously suggesting the QUALITY of the content is entirely irrelevant? that’s beyond absurd, and not even worth engaging further.

No. When I first started gaming it was on the nintendo 64 in the golden age if rareware. An incredible company that pumped out high quality games.

WoW has objectively gotten worse almost every expansion. Which is why it went from being the most popular computer game in the world into what it currently is today.

The creative forces in America are currupted as well. This is an objectove fact. Which is why the only good games nowadays come from Japan…

Even Nintendo has fallen, bro.

Iwata died, Nintendo IMMEDIATELY started signing mobile contracts and loading their games full of DLC.

I agree brother. Wow has lost it’s magic. Why is the gear ilvl capped based on some loser developers playing around a spreadsheet? lmao, that isn’t magic, that’s just engagement statistics.

Wow has sucked since Vanilla imo, but last 4 expansions have been complete crap, even though i keep playing. Why is the game so un-fun, that people look forward to their vault more than playing the game?
Why is there no world drops or epics? or blue items? it makes no sense. Whoever took over wow last 10-15 years is completely incompetent at building worlds and maintaing currency and relevancy and coherence.

4 million dollar mounts? and they nerf the quest given from dailies? like what does that do except encourage token buying?

Crafted orders? What is the point of this crap? it was better when u had to get 300 blacksmithing to make plate armor or a sword for yourself. Now you just buy a token and directly support Pay-2-Win Gameplay. It’s sickeniing, remove the token and fix your economy and gold aquisition. Reset the gold and make it Platinum. Who cares about wow players with millions of gold? think about the rest of us with 1000 gold who dont care about wow which is 99% of us lol.

why sending golds for you? just :put_litter_in_its_place: instead…

i still have a lot of fun playing games and retail if i set my expectations to what they should be. seems like this isnt a gaming issue. its a you issue. go find a new hobby you will enjoy.

you will never be 10 again in a summer break just exploring and learning about new games that you have no idea what will happen in them. that time is long past. you are clearly plugged into the mindset of being always online, checking all news, watching all the guides, knowing the best things to do in all games, and you expect to have fun in games again? :joy:

Yo thanks for this. This sounds like a great idea

So you started playing WoW when you were a kid and now you’re an adult. Fascinating.

Why would you play two mmos?

Not to be mean but it sounds like you don’t know how to properly play your class, just saying

shoo

They turned the game into Diablo 3

people really romanticize vanilla way too much.
the truth of the matter is vanilla was always “hyper casual” with zero difficulty.

the only difference between then and now is that back then it was extremely hard to find credible sources of information regarding what worked best in the game.

now everything is known and there are mountains of data from credible sources on every detail in existence even before content is released. and that information is easily accessible by literally everyone. back then all we had was thottbot and it was a tossup 50/50 if the information on there was correct or completely wrong and wasted your time.

if the types of credible information we had now were available back then, then you would obviously see the same types of thing happening that are happening right now in classic. people mainly stick to the meta, bring mostly warriors since they are the best dps, fill some spots with essentially useless classes that are only there because of a single buff they bring.

being a literal afk buff bot in raids is not what i would call good class design. but i guess being a buff bot is the peak class fantasy some people have. more power to those people i guess

Everything you have commented has just been straight doomer mindset. Maybe the gaming industry isn’t in the best place but if that’s the case, and all modern games suck or are too easy, then go play vanilla, SoD, or cata classic. Hell go play any older game.

Game development changes over the years and so do people and their tastes/interests/tolerances. If you say you’ve only put in about 2 months of game time over the last 10 years, getting AoTC and pugging m+ for a week each expansion, you either are putting in WAY too many hours in the first 2 weeks of expansions or you are just checking off the absolute bare minimum of activities to get you to AoTC.

And if that is too easy why not try getting Cutting Edge?

I’m on autopilot most days.

I was just thinking how so much has changed over the years not just with gaming, but life in general.

And instead of writing an essay, I’m just going to say that being a kid must be unbelievably exciting in this world.

I had 3 games. And I had to beg to use the TV and only on Saturdays.

I see all these choices now. Things my kids play. And I’m just to the point that I’d go read a book or take a nap.

Then it sounds like you might have depression

This is the big thing that people constantly seem to forget. WoW came as an EQ competitor to be more accessible by a larger audience
