Its not an inherent flaw to dislike a game. It is a flaw to dislike a game and continue playing. Ive burnt out a dozen times on Wow, but found where i can enjoy it still in limited burst.
If you’re not enjoying it, quit. Its never going to please everyone.
You’re missing the part where you ranked up in PVP and took your PVP gear into MC/BWL/ZG or you did arena for Season 1 gear to take into Gruul/TK/SSC and the part where you took your PVE gear into arena, the weapons and trinkets at least. The part where people actually looked forward to using their PVE gear in PVP.
I noticed you typed “largely the same”, so maybe there is some benefit of the doubt there.
That’s what the entire playerbase is missing now, the part where it was literally normal to take PVP gear into PVE lol.
same. I quit WoW frequently to play other things. I come back to it here and there when I’m in the mood. Yet I don’t sit there and demean others who enjoy it or whine that the industry is failing just because I’ve played WoW for 20 years and it gets boring sometimes.
It’s not the formula I have a problem with. I love the formula.
My problem is class / encounter design. Encounter design is a little better than DF was, but class design is still abysmal, because we refuse to replace Ion.
Yep. Not my fault people have literally no standards.
Yep. Or they somehow damaged their frontal lobe.
They used to be bro. And gaming was FLOURISHING for it, WoW had 13 MILLION subs for a reason in WOTLK and Cata.
there absolutely was a formula because I was heavy into it. You leveled, you got your gold for epic mounts, you did your rep grinds for enchantment and got your raids and dungeon quests unlocked, then you went and ran raids and 10 mans until you geared up and the next raid was released.
Pretending that wasn’t a thing in vanilla is insane lol
It’s a 20 year old game. Do you not understand that, are you really that stupid? It will never have 13 million players again because most people grow up and move on and only play casually if at all.
Go. Find. Something. To. Do. (feel like I’m speaking to my kid when she whines about “bored”) You are clearly not a gamer if you don’t enjoy games. Go find something else. Muting you because clearly you’re here to whine and troll rather than face the fact you are not a gamer if you enjoy no games, and it’s time to move on.
And once again: you are not somehow elite or better in your opinion. You’re just a miserable person who likes to whine. Again: that’s real stupid.
I never said it wasn’t a thing, I said you’re missing the huge part.
I went PVP gear into raids when BGs came out in Vanilla. ZG and AQ weren’t even out yet. I also played before BGs were added, world PVP was extremely popular. My first guild in vanilla was a PVP guild lol.
You aren’t even comprehending what you’re reading before you type your next paragraph, yikes.
It’ll never have 13 million players again because Activision murdered it, and the people who did it are still working there despite Activision being gone. Game became unfun, that’s why it lost so many subs.
And, bro, I LOVE games, they are really all I care about in the long run. I just hate the modern gaming industry.
I still don’t get what people like about League. I need to feel invested in a game and games like mobas are so temporary and fast paced. You level a character, make a build, and even if you fail you get to do it all over again from scratch. There’s nothing really to lose in those games other than some artificial rating in some comp match which doesn’t appeal to me. I tend to like a more hardcore partial loot or full loot pvp system with more on the line and big setbacks.
But anyway, yeah the combat has been a bit wonky at times. That’s why I got hooked on Aug last year cause it was new and interesting. Maybe the class balance and combat will get mixed up by balance changes in the future.
But if they find something to do they can’t be on here whining. People have suggested all kinds of games and the OP only replies they aren’t good enough and the people on the forums have “ruined” gaming lol
Edit: see? Didn’t even talk about your suggestions, just began ranting about the other games people mentioned and how they aren’t good enough.
OP is a troll here to whine, and I’m done feeding their stupidity.
I enjoy competitive games, part of why I like raiding and M+ and whatnot is trying to out perform other people in my role, or out performing myself and doing things I couldn’t before. So League scratches that itch.
Also I really like the characters. Like, I have a million (and then some) mastery on Yuumi. Partly because she’s fun to play, but also because I just love her design and personality. I like when my character’s in MMOs have a voice too.
And then it scratches that itch for good combat. It doesn’t have the 20 buttons my fistweaver had, but every little tiny movement I make matters, and it’s really fun outplaying people, or just playing something stupid like Garen and laughing my butt off while I do stupid troll things and get away with it for free.
Balance changes give me a sense of dread every time a new post drops.
That said, Fire Mage does seem cool so far, I like the changes they’ve done. I thought it would really slow the class down, but it’s actually crazier than it was before.
No they haven’t. And besides, the only MMO that has the kind of content I like is WoW. FFXIV is too casual, GW2 doesn’t really have an endgame, KMMOs generally don’t have raiding or anything like that, and etc.
Now if Wildstar made a come back, or Maplestory 2? I’d be gone and would not look back. I loved both of those games, even with their issues.
You’re burnt out. I had the same issue at the beginning of WOD. My guild died after the first two weeks I got accepted to a guild somewhere in between US 40-50 guild then decided instead to just take a break due to the burn out I was feeling.
Came back for like a week in Legion didn’t realize M+ was a thing (probably would have kept me if I saw it was a thing) and left it alone still to play some shooters.
In DF came back it felt like the fire was back in me for this game found some new friends in it (probably the biggest help)
My advice just walk away try some other game genre you wouldn’t normally try. I used an independent games and shooters. Maybe the same will work
When you say that your class plays itself, and I understand that you’re upset by it, I realize you’re not playing PvP. Try playing PvP sometimes, you’ll have to do the impossible, and it will bring back your interest in the game.
