I want to play WoW, but it's just not fun anymore

The debuff is a blessing.

You don’t know what it’s like without it.

Those were the dark ages.

I mean monks in mop were busted and he talking about deleting people in pvp which is what he likely misses the most about it wod pruned a ton of skills mop monks dps spec was very anti melee and could easily lock down players who had never played against one before and thats what he likely missed the most

Ive joined arenas with all healers and it was a nightmare it was basically a force the other player to quit comp or time the arena out

I have a feeling you’re the OP’s alt and just want to whine as well. There are a LOT of good games coming out. Just because they aren’t for you doesn’t mean they aren’t good. Kingdom Come Deliverence is great and part II is coming soon. Black Myth: Wukong just came out and it’s doing -very very well-. Elden Ring just dropped a DLC not 2 months ago. Last Epoch for ARPG fans, again, Pathfinder Wrath of the Righteous or BG3 or Disco Elysium or Rogue Trader or Wastelands 3 for traditional isometric RPG fans, there are a ton of builder sims out…

I mean, there’s good games aplenty if you stop nitpicking the fact not everything is going to be for you or perfect.

You know what? Go get a life and a different hobby. No one here “ruined” gaming for you, you ruined it for yourself by refusing to even give other amazing games a try. There are definitely games out there that are challenging, but for some reason you’d rather be here on the forums complaining about a genre that’s ALWAYS been dumbed down and easy.

Always. Including vanilla, and yeah, I was there even back when hunters had a bug where we could equip 2 quivers. The formula of WoW has -never- changed. What changed was you becoming older and growing bitter that things feel and look different than when you’re young. Cope and find a new hobby, gaming isn’t going to change just for you and insulting people who still enjoy the game isn’t going to change the game for you, either. It only makes you look like a fool.

Yea there are plenty of good games.

But a good game compared to a great game is night and day.

If you think we had “great” gaming in the 80s and 90s, that’s a bunch of BS because again, I was there. It’s because we were kids, and everything is new and sparkly at that age. And it felt new and sparkly in the early 00s when MMOs were just starting to be popular and the internet was new for most folks and socializing in games was new for most folks.

The formula of WoW has NOT changed, which is why I often find it tedious. But it didn’t get “worse”, you got old and got bored. Go find a new hobby if gaming gives you zero enjoyment now.

no, that’s not what this is. people aren’t not enjoying WoW because their tastes changed; they’re not enjoying WoW because → WoW ← changed. it’s like if your favorite restaurant changes their menu and stops making food that you like, so you decide to stop eating there. is that because your tastes changed? of course not, it’s because the restaurant changed. just because you happen to enjoy the new menu doesn’t mean that the restaurant isn’t the one responsible for losing customers.

Skill issue. /s

If it were up to me, healing would not be a role available in PvP, as it’s only exists there as an annoying buffer to extend fights and force CC even more.

“Better PvP games” is a very subjective notion.
Even with all its flaws, I’d rather play WoW PvP (real WoW PvP: non epic BGs) than the alternatives.

I do agree that there is way too much CC and micro CC at the moment. Considering that, DR should be universal already, and apply to max durations.

Either way, OP did not bother answering anyway since he can’t counter that.

Why do people write their life stories here?
Nevermind

I don’t care about PvP, never have. The pruning made the class absolutely braindead and boring in PvE. That’s all I care about.

Let’s see, from what you listed:

  • Kingdom Come and Black Myth I didn’t play. Won’t comment.
  • Elden Ring is just Dark Souls re-released for the 8th time. It’s a formulaic cash grab.
  • Last Epoch no comment, haven’t played. Plan on buying it though, so we’ll see.
  • Pathfinder is your run of the mill CRPG, seems more like a circle you know what for older CRPGs. Nothing really special about it.
  • BG3 is one of Larian’s worst games, very mediocre. Act 3 was horribly broken on launch, still missing a lot of endings, all sorts of pruned content to meet stupid deadlines, game has horrible gameplay. People are just simping for the characters, only reason anyone likes it. Plus, Larian is taking Tencent blood money. Automatic L.
  • Haven’t played the last 3, no comment.

You gave money to horrible studios like Activision. You cheered for garbage like BOTW and TOTK murdering Zelda as a series. You made Nintendo millions of dollars with Smash Ultimate DLC. You bought Diablo 4. You don’t ever tell studios no when they go and ruin things. You buy things like Call of Duty and Dark Souls that are just the same game re-released over and over.

I didn’t do that. You did.

I can go back and play Mario Sunshine and still love it. I can go back and play Wind Waker and still love it. I can go back and play on an MoP private server and it’s still fun. I can go back and play Mario and Luigi on my 3DS for the 300th time and it’s still enjoyable.

Meanwhile I play a brand new WoW expansion for two days and I’ve had enough of it. I played THOUSANDS of hours in WOTLK, Cata and MoP.

So I take it this is a “no” on the M+.

Also, very rare Mahouneko W.

Objectively correct take.

I’m stuck until at least the 28th, maybe I’m wrong and M+ will be fun. I have like two more specs I can try. But that’s at least a couple weeks of M+, so don’t worry.

And careful agreeing with literally anything I say bro.

I’d let them burn my house down before I willingly call BG3 anything above painfully mediocre. They made a mockery of my childhood favorites.

I doubt you dislike it for the same reasons I do, so what was it for you?

I mean, your reasons actually are on my list, but they are a bit lower.

Every single companion is some super special very powerful character that is just ‘oopsidasied’ by the head worm. Turns Gale into a level 1 wizard, but somehow leaves Minsc (who already had brain damage, canonically) barely touched in power.

“Seldarine drow” and “Lloth-sworn drow” aren’t a thing. There is no racial difference between the two, only a difference in allegiance. Should have been handled by an option in the deity section they decided to cut for non-clerics for no reason. Yet dialogue (more of that cut content) frequently has tags for Paladin of x deity or Druid of x deity for example.

I followed this game from the moment it cropped up on Larian’s website as a single line of information in their webdata. I adore BG1 and 2, as well as the rest of the Infinity Engine games for that matter. I poured my heart out both for the community and the developers.

Nothing I said mattered, and virtually everyone I’ve talked to still acknowledges most of the problems I have are problems. Just one example before I stop complaining; Prone. In 5e, prone is not a form of hard CC. In BG3, because they were too damn lazy to edit more of their animation - effect settings, prone is hard CC now if it happens on your turn. Say you slip on ice. It should simply reduce your movement and then apply a debuff that encompasses what the Prone condition does, but instead it can completely rob you of your turn. I pointed this out on a near-monthly basis since before Early Access because I’d noticed it in a video.

Anyway, that’s enough of me harping on the game, especially since doing so at all puts a target on my back. I hope other people enjoy it. I cannot.

I understand how you feel, I hope you figure out something that makes you feel better.
For me, it was doing Tarot for people; cause people get genuinly happy and helped by it.

People love to go on about how great BG3 is, and I often talk about how it isn’t (shocking, I know), and yes it does get you all sorts of hate.

It’s a shame they rewrote the story last minute, 'cause I bet they had better reasons for people starting level 1, though I never looked into the game until it was in later stages of development and everything was pretty much done.

They’re moving away from the game really quickly too, so maybe they just never wanted to do it, and were forced to by investors.

I’ve tried a lot of things, bro.

WoW’s formula has remained largely the same as it always was: you go do quests, level, collect rep and currency to go raid/mythic, and then go raid/mythic.

Pretending otherwise is just a cope. YOU changed. The game is the same crap it’s been for literally 2 decades now.

There’s no improving someone with such poor taste I guess. So you’re either saying a game that won multiple game of the year awards is “bad”, or you’re trying to say the literal millions who played it and enjoyed it are “stupid”, while you sit here and whine on a forum dedicated to a game 20 years old and isn’t going to change or go back in time just because you’re OH SO UPSET about it (and if you think Pathfinder WOTR is “like all other rpgs”, you’ve clearly never played it. It’s wild how many paths you can take in that game. In fact, all your arguments are just generic whining. You make zero credible statements and have no sources except your own opinion to back up your claims. Those are all wildly popular games for a reason, and no, you aren’t somehow “better” than people who buy and like those games).

That’s the definition of stupidity right there.

Go. Find. Another. Hobby. It’s clear you aren’t a gamer, you’re just someone who wants to complain that things aren’t exactly the way you want. They never will be. Go find something else to do, seriously, it’s really weird you’re sitting here blaming others for your misery.
