I want to cancel and get a refund. How?

After seeing vault today, I’ve decided that it’s time to just move on. I have never felt so angry at a game before and it’s just not worth it. Week three of no upgrades, myth slot last week an off-hand. Myth slot this week…off-hand. I’m done.

I went to cancel my sub but it shows that I’m subscribed until Feb 2025 (6 mo sub). Is it possible to end my sub this month and get a refund? If so, how do I do that?

The vault rng is pretty amazing somehow it always knows the 2 or 3 slots you have bis already lets say belt, boots, trinket. And all 9 vault slots are belts boots and trinkets 2 weeks in a row.

Just amazing lol

It is not possible to get a partial refund from time blocks once you’ve used it.

Only if it’s entirely unused, and if you did not for example receive extra goodies like the mounts, pets or other promotionals that comes with the 6 months and higher bundles too.

You may cancel your time though in the sense that it won’t renew when it would at the future date.

Highly unlikely, Mila given how much of it is already consumed.

Looks like you went to a one month sub today? Your named license is good through Feb 2025

You’re not owed loot by virtue of being a paying customer.

Yes, I changed it about 30 min ago to monthly. I’m just trying to figure out how I can cancel now and get a refund since I’m still paid up until Feb. That’s about four months. Is that not possible?

To add insult to injury, there were three rings in my vault too and another off-hand. I don’t remember it being this bad last expansion. I don’t know what changed but it definitely feels like something has.

You can open a ticket. It’s extremely unlikely that you’d get a refund, since you’ve used 1/3rd of the product at this point, but you can open a ticket to request one and see what your answer is.

I doubt they will give you a refund because you got unlucky though.

Once you pay for the 6 months, you’ve made the payment for 6 months, though.

I’ve had month+ droughts since the system was introduced (though it was just a single option back then) in BfA.

It happens.

Blocks of time like that, unless they are VERY fresh, and you get an exception - just aren’t refundable, Mila.

Two months of the 6 are already gone. The prices don’t correlate in blocks to month to month, there is a discount.

No. Part of the deal of getting the larger promotional blocks of time is that you’re making that commitment no matter what. It’s not refundable past 14 days or 2 hours played.

[Edit] - The sleepy panda is not so sleepy and beat me to it.

I think they even changed that to “unused” only for subscriptions hm.

Edit just checked:

Subscriptions

We’ll refund any unused World of Warcraft subscription within 14 days of the purchase.

We won’t refund subscription time lost due to a suspension and/or permanent account closure. For permanent account closures and suspensions longer than 15 days, we will cancel upcoming recurring subscriptions.

While vault unlocks are good goalposts, I wouldn’t treat it as a dependable source of upgrades.

Maybe a dependable source of epic shards, but I am an enchanter. We’re at the point that taking the currency is a better bet though.

To cancel any reoccurring subscription, just remove the credit card from your account.

We all look forward to the vault but most of us understand it is what it is and guarantees nothing. There was a time when there was no vault, so it is a bonus, not a promise.

Added to that if vault loot is your only source of happiness in the game, and it makes you as mad as you describe, then it might indeed be time to move on a find a game that you enjoy , does not cause emotional and mental breakdowns, nor make such posts.

I do wish you luck fellow gamer in your journey to find something new. there are indeed some other great games out there, some will allow you to spend exuberant amounts of cash to get more or less exactly what you want, or least way higher odds than those who do not spend, but even then, rarely are there absolutes.

Live long and prosper and may the Light guide your path!

The vault is far better than how it used to be. In Legion and BfA you got 1 chest, and no options to choose from. I got 8 belts in a row back in BfA at once time span on my mage.

At least you can get sockets with the vault pity tokens

Prior to the vault being implemented, you had to hope and pray that you got a drop in raid and that you had enough DKP to pay for it.

The “How” part of requesting a refund would be through a ticket. Here’s a link:

The “If” part is probably not going to get you the result you want. As the moderator said, with so much time consumed out of the pre-purchased block, it’s extremely unlikely that Blizzard would approve a refund. I’ve seen them do it in the past in very rare situations, such as a true financial hardship or some sort of tragedy or even natural disasters. But I don’t think disappointment with the rng of loot drops is going to be considered a qualified circumstance.
