So if a dude goes around trade chat and LFG saying to people that I’m an Egirl who begs for money and sells bathwater, etc, even though it is 100% not true and hurts my reputation, it’s just free speech?

Oh, that IS free speech, but that just means he won’t go to prison for saying it. He still has to deal with the consequences of saying it, which means bans, mutes, public shaming in his server or just being a weird, weird person no one likes to be around.

Why are you hiding behind a retail avatar? People may have witnessed your so called harassment. Which would add to the credibility of your claims.

You care way to much of what a person this person thinks about you even if you feel it hurts your reputation (its the internet). This is something you can fix by just continuing to ignore. While you might feel it impacts your reputation, the examples you have given seem to be quite childish (on what they are saying, not your perception). As a bystander I would easily ignore these things and to be honest, if they get posted enough by said person, they would go on my ignore list.

Damn… how’d you guys do it? I’d love to have a stalker too but then we’d have to figure out how he could stalk me when I’m going inside Dire Maul to farm felcloth… or when I’m raiding with my guild and all 40 spots are taken:(
It’d be nice to know there’s always someone watching me when I parse 99’s with no flask but it’s just not possible:(

Open a ticket and ask to speak to GM in concerns to a severe harrasment issue. Let them know this person has been long term harrasing you. They will get back to you the following day or so. I’ve had people harrasing me before, I simply confront them and tell them what’s up, they stop and I haven’t heard since.

This is really bad advice.
Why can’t I be frustrated? I’ve put up with his bullying for months despite not replying to him. It got old and stale back in october and now it’s just so far beyond simple annoyance. I’m just trying to play the game and be a part of the community and some dude is bent on ruining it. I actually don’t have any ill-will towards him other than wanting him to go away and leave me alone, but it’s incredibly frustrating being the target of someone’s constant hatred.

No, but I feel the need to respond to a bunch of dudes victim blaming to point out that their “advice” is actually kinda garbage.
- The system blizzard has in place to deal with harassment is woefully inadequate
- I shouldn’t have to pay money and flee the community i have helped build on my server for something that’s not my fault
- I shouldn’t have to hide every aspect of my identity so no one ever knows I’m a girl or knows who any of my alts are
- I don’t need to have “done anything” to have pissed him off. I didn’t. I have tried to stay away from him for months now.
This is all just victim-blaming garbage.

There is no free speech rights on an online service, it’s a private forum that they can censor however they like. Blizzard is just terrible about doing that.

What are you talking about? We’re not in the same guild! I left the guild very early on because it was toxic and have not been guildies with him for over six months. He hasn’t done anything to help me, such as carries, etc.
