Not with out a full 40 man pre-made… Something Blizzard specifically banned as possible in mid Vanilla before they ever Nerfed AV.

This is patently false. All it takes is a few people who know how to zerg to teach pugs the easiest path to get to the enemy general while encountering the fewest possible mobs. Or the 1st time someone makes a video, not even explaining it happening just showing it and people use that as a model.

As for the “made impossible” it’s not. It’s hard to do, but it’s not impossible to get a full 40 man predmade team into AV.

Yeah, because when they introduced reinforcements in 2.3 people started zerging it because it wasn’t worth the time to stand toe to toe and fight anymore.

1.12 AV was literally worse than what Retail has now. At least Retail has some halfway decent NPCs now. At least the flag guards. Idk about the townsfolk.

In 100 games played how frequently can you get pugs to take a direction and listen?

Its been a while but I often recall these situations going something like…

Player: >>> Incoming Lumber mill, can some of you ditch road battle and actually come help?

Pug: >>> Don’t tell me how to play scrub, look at my damage vs yours.

It’s not verbatim, but that really does sum up pugs very well from what I have seen.

I want old AV so bad. It was the first thought I had when they announced Classic. To not get it at all is very disappointing…

From my experience, somewhere between 50%-75% of the time people will listen if you don’t treat them like children.

AV pops.
Raid enters.
“We need 10 people on defense.”
“I’ll go.”
“I’ll do it.”
“Me.”
“I’ll go on defense when I die”
etc. etc. This was the case in pretty much ever 1.12 - 2.2 AV I ever did.

If it wasn’t obtainable, it wouldn’t be an achievement.

Though I will admit that Blizzard has improved Retail’s AV recently. In fact, it’s the best it has been in over a decade.
