Pretty sure transfers and mergers aren’t coming. It’s pretty apparent SOM was just a cash grab. I get rank 10 next week and my sub runs out a few days after that. I’m calling it and moving on to better games. No point in paying blizz for a rushed subpar experience when I can go play GW 2 or Halo infinite for free and have a way better experience. GGs y’all.
They are coming in less than 10 months now.

I feel for ya, man. I came back to wow after a good 10 years gone because SoM sounded really interesting. Fast forward and I feel like I wasted my time with it. Pretty much any of the SoM servers that AREN’T Jom are dead. I’ve been on free servers with higher more active populations than what I am experiencing on Barman Shanker.
There is no pve to be had so dungeons are a no go. He AH has very little for sale and what IS available is 3x what it should cost.
When my group of friends came to Barman Shanker on launch things seemed alright but everyday another name on my friend list goes grey because “screw this I’m quitting/rerolling on Jom.”
You can’t just strand people on dead servers. Progression is nigh impossible.
Something needs to be done. A whole lot of players rerolled after several weeks on Jom from a lot of servers. The AH and economy on some servers (Mutanus) is starting to become poor, and I would expect soon recruiting to be very problematic. Mutanus is the second (?) largest server too! In early December, things were starting to feel sparse. Action needs to be taken. SoM is not original Classic, we don’t care about layering or connected realm “issues” impacting the community feel. We need bodies to clear the content, which is the entire point to SoM… updated and tougher raid content.
It’s almost as if you provided your own solution to the problem.
That’s not a real solution for most players. Yes, maybe a few months ago, that was on the table. Do a lot of us feel foolish? Yes. Whatever. It looked mostly positive still then. Blizzard’s community posts on server population talks about actions and their desire to allow us to play the game. Right now, their inaction is harming a large number of players. Blizzard should have known better as stewards of their game.
There are three solutions currently available: do nothing, quit, or reroll.
All three of them are quite “real”.
Spending 2 months re-rolling this deep into a 12 month season isn’t a realistic option, troll.
So really, there are 2 options. Endure a poorly run (and un-fun) game… Or quit.
I chose to quit.

I mean, leveling is the fun part anyway. The narrative that the game starts at 60 has always been false for me.
