I uninstalled the game - state of game horrible

You’ll feel better when they get 8 day bans, and miss TBC Launch day

People afking battlegrounds is a time honored tradition.

It’ll happen in TBC too for alts trying to farm their honor set as a fresh 70.

Philanthropy won’t save you from burning in hell, sinner.

Yes. Blizzard is going to ban half the player base because of their own mistake.

It isn’t half the player base by a long shot. And yes, they will suspend people who are cheating in BGs.

Getting the amount of honor the game determines you to get is cheating?

Or did you mean afking? Which is scummy but also not cheating.

It is cheating. It’s against the EULA, and is actionable. An 8-day suspension is something that this can result in.

Who decides who is AFKing?

If you actually afk, you get kicked. If you’re just not contributing, whose job is it to determine who is afking?

Hopefully not the players. Heck I’ve been kicked from a BG back in the day for AFKing while I was waiting on the friggin GY rez timer.

I love how people who dedicate their life to a 15 year old pay2win chinase gold farming game have some type of elitism to it. I can only wonder how sad there life most really be.

Another retail kid crying about the honor FIX (not nerf, fix, it wasn’t 10x in TBC).

Ultimately Blizzard decides.

Players can report other players. I don’t work at Blizzard, and am unfamiliar with the internal tools, but a cursory search returns some results that might give some insight:

I doubt it. Other than what’s in their ToS, I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone get banned for AFKing. lol

I know how that works. I just mean leaving it up to the players is a bad idea. You implement something to be helpful, and people WILL find a way to abuse it. I’ve seen countless people kicked because one person in the BG said “report Player X they’re afk” and people just do it because they don’t want AFKers. Even when the person isn’t AFK.

Same mindset kicking people from groups in retail. Most players just click the popup without even reading it.

We’re the reason we can’t have nice things. :frowning:

OK. I mean, I wasn’t stating it as opinion. It’s demonstrable.

They don’t have a ToS and haven’t for years. I don’t believe that you are familiar with it, if you don’t even know this. There is a EULA.

Well, you either haven’t been paying attention, or you don’t have enough experience.

Do you? Would you mind explaining?

Yes, this was pretty common when AV first dropped, but they made some adjustments to how that system works.

I’m not sure how it works now, but it seems that if even 1 person clicks “No,” the vote fails. But yeah, every system that can be gamed will be gamed. That’s incredibly normal.

We are also the reason we have such nice things.

Can I have your silver then?

I can only wonder how bad your parses must really be.

Oh man you parse high a in 15 year old video game with RMT. You most be really skilled. Can’t wait to see you at Evo. What team you signed up with? You are part of a team right. You are not some pathetic loser who’s only accomplishment is high parses in a game that rewards P2W and time sinks riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

This should usually be followed by an example. I’ve seen plenty of people kicked for afking, but never heard of anyone banned for being afk.

Semantics. People use ToS as a sweeping term for the basic rules and regulations of a company or service. Still applicable.

Explain that I know there’s a report button? I actually said I had been reported myself in my previous post.

Fair point.

Then you haven’t been paying attention, because people get banned for AFKing in BGs all the time. There was a HILARIOUS thread back on the Classic boards about some person swearing up and down he wasn’t AFKing and got himself banned for several days right before he would hit Rank 14, losing him the slot for Grand Marshal and a ton of progress. He even tried getting all his friends to brigade the thread trying to overturn the results and it was just a hoot to read.

So no… people get banned for AFKing all the time.

Okay look. These threads honestly get extremely old. Ultimately you aren’t forced to AFK. It’s this thing called integrity. At the end of the day it’s all you have as a human being. It isn’t Blizzard’s fault you or other players like yourself lack the integrity to jump in and see something through. Players did the AFK in BGs, fishing, and skinning mobs thing long before the bug. They do it after the bug. And they will continue to do it.

I feel no sympathy for posts like this when a player created problem is being placed on someone else. It isn’t Blizzard’s job for you and everyone else to be a decent human being. That’s all on you.
