Yes, we do. This is essentially the same thing as someone stream sniping in games like PUBG or Fortnite, just on a much larger scale and with much greater impact. Since you can’t directly kill players in a raid they DDoSed the entire server.
I agree with the sentiment that the recent statement from Blizz on this matter looks a whole lot like a PR move/streamer privilege. but at the same time if HC character revivals are still at Blizz’s sole discretion and not automated nor abusable, I’m cautiously optimistic that this could be a good thing. Just depends on whether these revivals are only when a bunch of streamers are involved or not.
As it turns out, Hardcore isn’t Hardcore if you whine enough about it. So nah’, it just proves there’s no point in playing that gamemode since it isn’t a hardcore mode. It is a “whining and spam-drama”-mode.
Literally the entire thing was people endlessly spamming and whining about people losing their characters in a hardcore mode. Per definition, hardcore no longer exists - just dramafarming, whining, and nonsense.
Those streamers are getting paid directly by Blizz for marketing. They are freelance employee’s essentially. They are glorified salesman in disguise. They are not anyones friends, it’s a sham, and I hope people w realize that.
It didn’t start out like that, but eventually companies were able to manipulate the streaming platform to their will with money.
On top of that they get donations lols. For selling you on a game.
It’s even funnier and more ironic if you really think about it.
Most of these people are the wow classic crowd that is always yelling and screaming about how convenience ruins retail wow.
At the first signs of wow HC inconveniencing their favorite streamers, they completely forget all about that and scream and cry for rollbacks and revives.
yes, this is a tight rope though, death DO occur in HC and they are permanent, but deaths do to some mouth breathing neck bears…that’s not “normal” circumstances.
I was in a middle of a raid when the ddos happened and lost my progress, not as bad, but equally as annoying in its own right.
False. I don’t care about the streamers here either way, and I was quite annoyed when Blizzard was going to let the terrorists win because it made it more likely they’d do it again (and affect me over here in retail again).
Rolling it back is a rare W move on Blizzard’s part, because it takes infamy away from the terrorists, and makes it less likely they’ll mess with MY weekend again. I’m perfectly okay to have some streamers have some harm done to them undone to accomplish that.
would it age like fine-wine-milk if it was eventually proven that streamers/raiders are now enacting a DDoS (from god knows where) when the raid/dungeon isnt going so well?
Little or lots of support, it’s still disgusting how quickly blizzard bends their established rules/policies the second a streamer is negatively impacted.
Some paying customers are more equal than others, and it’s incredibly obvious.
