Tldr
Just don’t care what you have to say anymore, you are just pathetic and one dimensional, cool class is over and it looks like you failed, better luck next time
Another reason we need RDF:
Players like yourself will actually get group content experience!
Anyway, enjoy the blocklist
But wrath is the boat?
I agree on the toxic player mentality and I understand that people don’t care as much on ninja looting, but don’t forget we also don’t have cross realm so people can be held accountable more. People stopped caring when cross realm came in because there was nothing they could do, can’t report on another server unfortunately. Why can’t we change RDF if people are so keen on it, why not make it a better system that helps lower the toxicity that’s currently in the game?
To the people who are against RDF, I have questions. I play on a NA PST server, sometimes during the day and sometimes late at night and past midnight. After midnight, the number of people looking to do lower-level dungeons goes down drastically and at times there is no one in the LFG tool at all. Even when I advertise on the LookingForGroup channel there are no takers. What am I supposed to do for dungeons in that case? LFD would have solved my problem already.
To those arguing against it, I understand why you are doing so. However, please see the other point of view. There are players who can only play on ‘off’ times and from what I’ve experienced so far, it is not an encouraging situation.
For the detractors/anti-LFD, none of you have offered a viable solution for my situation.
There was never any social interaction after you run the dungeon, it was myth
Genuine question, what is RDF going to do if there’s no one online in that bracket to run dungeons? You’ll sit there waiting just like you’re doing right now. Once wrath releases you’ll see another influx of players returning to the game again and that will help with lower level populations.
Valid question, however in all the years that I have used LFG, especially cross-server one, I have always gotten a group at any time of the day.
RDF really is an expansion defining system.
Wrath, to me, was running heroics for hours. It’s what I enjoyed. And now it’s being turned into a raid log game. Well, I’m not into that. That’s what it boils down to.
The LFG abomination wasn’t in Wrath. RDF was.
It did not. I remember many times going with a full or partial group of guildies and friends. We’d group, hit RDF and voila.
Wrath is the player base. RDF is simply a tool. Tools are never the problem in and of themselves.
The entire premise of your argument is that, if we remove this tool, we can fix the player base. We’ve just gone through three years of Classic without it. By your logic, people should be acting the way they did before the tool was introduced back in 2009, right? But I think we can both clearly see that’s not the case. What people did in response to not having that tool was create mega servers that provided a pseudo RDF experience anyway. The prevailing attitude in retail, that your guild is the only community that matters, came here to Classic. The only way to make things possibly be different is to use a time machine to go back to 2009 and make sure the tool isn’t added at all. Or go back even further than that and stop Blizzard from making the design choices that attracted all the fps gamers, and other people who don’t care about the RPG side of the game, to the game in the first place. Since that’s impossible, all that’s left to us is to deal with the world as it is, not as we wish it were.
I want RDF too but this post is just pure doom and despair that isn’t real most of the time. WOTLK dungeons aren’t hard in comparison to TBC which I was able to clear every dungeon with randoms 90% of the time. The only thing I find annoying is actually finding the tank/healer to run the dungeon which requires active work RDF could mitigate completely.
Sat around posted for Maraudon the other day on my Rogue for about 30 minutes before finally getting into a group. The group had 4 dps and a tank. No healer, the group leader kept questioning why one of the dps wasn’t tanking as we were heading toward the dungeon entrance, the guy actually signed up as a tank didn’t say a word, eventually the leader kicked the dps he thought was supposed to tank, invited another tank, still have no healer, still no clue who’s supposed to actually be the tank, and by that point I just left the group before it even began, I wasn’t dealing with that nonsense
I hate the LFG tool and want RDF but to be fair, the guy might not have known he was queued up as a tank. The LFG tool is a pile of trash and you need to set your role in both the tool AND the talent tree and even then sometimes it puts you up as the wrong role.
Yep seriously. I doubt most pro-RDF people would be as upset if the LFG tool was actually GOOD.
After being invited to multiple dungeons that I wasn’t even listed for just cause the other group needed a tank, I’m all for RDF now.
I would certainly be less pressed if it was at least usable. The only real way to get into a group right now is to spam chat. Which is what we all did before the LFG tool or RDF anyway… Which is why RDF was made in the first place because spamming chat is awful.
Shut up tank, You belong to the community now and you will do your designated role or else. /sarcasm
Once I get my revenge build going, I’ll be a strong independent tank that don’t need no group.
Or. Maybe. Perhaps. Just possibly. People like running dungeons and dislike utterly pointless tedium that also seriously impedes the former? People don’t want to exclusively run the couple dungeons that happen to be right next to a good questing area – and then not even that as the expansion wears on – on every alt? People want to be able to actually play the game instead of sitting in a city staring at LFG chat and spamming refresh on the LFG tool trying to snipe group spots and players? They want to relive the memories they have of the actually fun leveling experience of Wrath for half the expansion post-RDF? They don’t want to see their communities fracture and dwindle due to the exclusion of RDF shrinking the game and spiking attrition rates? Possibly. Could be.
