I thought Dragonflight was supposed to save WoW

Game is just :weary::weary::weary: exhausting. CCing has become optional. Somebody can literally die 100-0 in a single school lockout. Like they have blueprint for MoP when things were actually fairly okay…

DF is not that guy

This is not mop or 2012 anymore. This is 2023 wow Dragonflight where we play solo shuffle instead of playing ladder. Arena momentum in shuffle is not how it is on ladder. Sustain is way too high, micro CC is a problem since games are 1m 30s and under, & healing needs buffed. Either tone down damage, or give healers a way to breathe. No one wants to heal this garbage meta of a shadowlands 2.0. That’s the problem.

Also why does damp start at 10% in 3s? Lol

They made this change when health pools were increased by 40% at the tail end of Beta as a panic reaction to the threat of long matches.

That’s what you call irony.

Do people really want to play long dampening games that reward massive amounts of cc?

Everyone has different tastes I suppose.

I’d like shorter games where good use of cc influences outcomes rather than someone dying in a dr’d cc that was only used to stop a cast

it was good when everyone was in honor gear, literally feels like we went from full unranked to duelist gear with 10 ilvls

I prefer the reverse… watching a near scripted cc chain is the worst kind of pvp to me.

Edit: I think that is the divide between solo and 3 players. One wants a more planned out fight the other wants to exploit small mistakes and turn the game with quick reactions and cunning.

So someone dying in a dr’d fel eruption with 3 seconds left on stun dr to a 150k death sweep into 150k hunt is more enjoyable than something like an ele shaman hexing healer and lassoing mage to cover their own cc?

Yes… and there was at least 5s of build up to that dr stun equaling a kill…

Yeah but wow isn’t designed where small exploits are equivocally exploitable with insane dmg while in 3s you can build a comp to cover weaknesses

That 5s of stun happened 20 seconds ago in my example

Right but a dh needs to vengeful retreat, stun, cast hunt then death sweep to do what they did…

You are acting like he proced a pryo blast.

do not engage with the male humans/nelves who have helm showing - simply observe and take notes

? You’re acting like what the dh did is somehow harder

It is… he lined up every big cd he had over 8s uninterrupted in a move so choreographiced it may as well be a mating dance.

This is akin to complaining that a destro lock being allowed to hard cast multiple choas bolts did a lot of dmg to you…

Heck he even had to burn his mobility cds to do that.

Sounds kinda dumb to make damp start at 10%. I know their goals of trying to make games end faster & not damp. I think around 2m is a nice threshold of where arena should end on average. But healers are struggling & they aren’t realizing the problems.

First off it doesn’t take 8 seconds

Second, uninterrupted is a stretch when vengeful retreat makes you immune to cc

Third, the point I am trying to make is damage is so high that people die in random cc

The dh pressed stun because stun was off cd and he didn’t bother looking at drs, he misplayed, and is rewarded for a win

I could use examples of almost every spec doing the same thing

An ideal kill window should be between like 6-10 seconds with cc, not 1-3

This assumes a lot… one he ran the talent for vengeful retreat to provide immunity. Its rare… but you know what there is a chance he did will give that to you.

He still had to respect gcds… 1 for retreat, 1 for the stun, and the cast time of the hunt. Yes you really did let him have roughly 8s of free actions and yes its as bad as letting hard casted choas bolts go off.

Its likely he saw his dmg was up and took a gamble that paid off.

Big if true
