I think this could be the end of WOW

No game company is going to have two competing MMORPG on the market.

NCSoft tried doing this and didn’t it hurt them, same thing with Trion.

Plus, it would be to hard to port WOW to console and since its on the decline from the scandals and god awful story telling. I don’t see a great future other then permanent maintenance mode.

I could be wrong.

What do you all think?

I think they developed a MMORPGMETA and want to capitalize on it… why else sell?

What MMORPG is competing with WoW that Microsoft owns?

Don’t know about NCsoft, but Trion wasn’t hurt by competing games. They were hurt by the fact that they didn’t do anything with end game in Rift and flitted off to make a new one, while flitting off to make other types of games.

What other MMORPG does MS have?

Yes they are totally going to shut down WoW and keep ESO going. Yup.

Microsoft owns Bethesda, which owns ESO.

Well, activision acquired blizzard in middle of WOTLK, and what came after that is history. So may be it is time for a change.

They own ESO

Most likely ESO will be more towards the console market and WoW the PC market even though ESO has both versions.

You’re wrong.

Also, in the worst case scenario in which Microsoft chooses one MMO to dumpster, WoW would 100% win over ESO.

WoW’s made over $10 billion since its existence. No other MMORPG comes even close to that.

Hold up… OP somehow thinks that ESO is competing with WoW?

Considering ESO is in a far better spot than WoW has been for a good while now, i would be okay with this.

WoW and ESO are two different games with different styles and different communities. I don’t think there’s a huge amount of competition between the two of them. Plus they’re both games that have been around for a long time and have a lot of history that appeals to different people.

I think you are wrong. I feel a lot more optimistic and less stressed about WoW’s future today than I did yesterday.

Buck up, matey, a bright future for Azeroth lies ahead.

Let me start by saying that I adore this game with all my heart! But my honest guess is that the game was on its way towards an end anyways. Story-wise at least… we are on our way to the biggest battle in the Warcraft universe. Light vs dark has always been the end game I think. Plus we are coming face to face with the biggest names in WoW lore. Dealing with cosmic forces that we have only ever heard of before.

I believe WoW will finish out it’s story in a few years. Not anytime soon actually but eventually, we will see the ending outcome and will be left with that to play in with more legacy servers for different expansions kept running.

So WoW will end but not really and probably not right away! There isn’t any reason to shut it down when they can absolutely still profit from it. :butterfly: people will play WoW for a long time I hope.

they will do nothing then finacial resource support for both company that made eso and wow.

If anything the chances of us getting a legitimate sequel to WoW have drastically gone up.
