As elemental pallies were always free kills even in vanilla/classic. One of the few classes we can 1v1 consistently. Now let me jump on my war and start complaining about rets .

Overpowered how? shaman is the only class in all of SoD that has 0 full cc effects with only 2 slows. Frost shock which shares cd with all other shocks effectively forcing the shaman to think which is best to cast at that time between 1 being a staple to lava bursts damage and the other being the shamans kick. The other being a totem that always spawns under the shamans feet and can be attacked and one shot with an auto attack by anything.
I see posts like this all the time crying out how shamans do to much damage what do you expect? You all want shamans to be a punching bag that gets walked over. The most effective pvp stuff shaman has is all in the totems, which again always spawn at the foot of the shaman and is destroyed with 1 attack and can only have 1 totem per element . Grounding totem blocks 1 attack has a like 20 second cd the new decoy totem which actually helps a shaman survive one of its worst weaknesses cc. Stone skin totem doesnât do much for pvp unless your enemies are dumb enough to let it stay standing for it to reduce any damage. People arguing that shamans are some godlike class cause âIt hit me hardâ, also dont ever take into account that a large part of shamans kit is counterable by itself with totems being so easy to remove while most of them having pretty high mana costs.
Most times I see this complaint come up 90% of the time itâs a paladin but heres the ironic difference in a scenario.
A paladin has 10 mages all casting the most powerful spell they can possibly cast
The paladin bubbles and absorbs multiple thousands of damage with 1 button
A shaman in the exact same scenario places grounding totem.
A mage fireblasts it the other 9 mages cast and kill the shaman.
Let me also add in that in almost every single caster class each class has some form of ignoring kickback on casts. Shamans get one that only applies when they get crit, for a shaman to ignore you slapping them and preventing a cast they have to get hit harder. Lets also add in the fact they have horrible mobility you gonna try arguing ghost wolf its got a 3 second cast time without the talents and still a 1 second cast time with them.
The arguement that shaman op is basically stemmed from people that got 1 shot by a shaman that was able to free cast.
nope. my only complaint (and most rational peopleâs) with enhancement is MSW healing is far too strong. it would be equivalent to me getting instant cast holy lights at 0 mana cost.
the biggest issue with ele is that in a large team fight, burn rune gives them too much uptime on power surge. they donât have to free cast when they just proc instant casts off the whole team melting, 5% per application of flame shock. âjust cleanse itâ is not a valid argument when it can reapply to 5 people faster than it can be removed from those 5 people
Believe when I say PS does not proc enough and I also believe that 5% is not stackable on the flame shock spread. If that were the case⌠I would be just a turret spamming instant LB⌠which is not the case.
Also, I wish they made it where when you proc a PS you get both an instant and reset on LB. Far too many times, I get a proc but my LB is on CD (and CL). =)
If a shaman couldnât instant cast through PS the only instant cast they would have is natureâs swiftness instant cast half way down the resto tree. Burns spread is necessary because that would be 1/20 flameshock ticks to proc PS the % is decently high ill give you that but in a 1v1 itâs bad. You have to get pretty lucky and some just arenât, you might get that proc on the first tick you might get it the last tick you might not get it at all.
For enhancements healing thats also something necessary besides the few totems to reduce damage and the low 20% from shamanistic rage. How do you think they can survive a fight otherwise plus all that mana they use on them heals. Its just asking to oom with 300+ mana cost heal casts not even shamanistic rage is saving you.

Shaman have more tools than any other class in the game.

Literally like 80% of that is again those little sticks with 5 hp that cost roughly 300-500 mana per that anything can 1 tap. They all take a gcd and arent always the best bang for cost you might remove alot of stuff you may not remove much of anything.
There isnt any other class that has a built in counter to a massive portion of the kit they have like shaman. The effects of totems have to be good to be for the sake of being cost effective.
The mana regen from mana spring totem is actually really low, being at most like 10-15 mana per 2 seconds. Meaning in a pvp setting using this is literally a waste of mana unless the enemy team is completely smooth brained and leaves it up.
A one-shot totem
What? Grounding totem? It takes 1 damage spell or multiple non damaging spells hardly immunity agaisnt anyone whose smart enough to target it and melee it or instant cast it.
Again 1 shot totem these are all able to be targeted all dropped in the same location all literally the only thing that has its own counterplay built into itself with literally all but 1 having 5 hp with this one specifically having the same aoe range as frost nova from mage.
Where? Riptide? Natures swiftness? MSW? You take any of these youâre losing out on others that might be more beneficial to the build while having a 3 second cast time big heal you act like these things are baseline.
Ghost wolf I already explained, the exact same cast time as a mount unless talented and even then still has a 1 second cast time.
More doesnât always mean better you also have to effectively keybind all of this its not simple.
OP was more so directing things towards pvp where totems arent going to excel like youâre trying to make them. Any semi decent rogue or hunter wouldnât let them stay up.
Iâm assuming windfury, the slot machine of damage effects. With 2 slows and the only full cc effects a shaman can get being from Tauren or any on hit effect from weapons the only thing your going to easily fight is other melee. If any ranged allows you to get close as a shaman melee they deserve to lose, its just specifically much harder for shaman with other classes that have dash, ranged cc, charge, fears, sprint, teleports like shadowstep and Iâm sure a whole list of others.
Again where? Idk if you mean Decoy totem or tremor totem which again both easily taken care of by 1 auto attack and prevents a shaman from being slapped around by every other class that has hard ccs
Throughout wows history shaman has got shafted over and over and anytime anything was going decent for shaman everyone wants it nerfed into the dirt.

The only thing OP about Shaman is MSW procs. If they removed the healing part⌠would you guys still cry?
All that other totem sh1t has been a staple of Shaman (obviously except for decoy) since day 1.
I dont think people really understand how damaging that removal could be for the class. Maybe healing effectiveness reduction from instant casts like 60% effectiveness but completely removal would kill enhance survivability.
Can you imagine if Rogue had recup, Warriors had second wind and enrage regen, Hunters had (what was the name of their heal? heh). Its the same right now for people fighting Enh Shaman. Hybrids being able to dps high and heal very effectively is not a good thing. You canât have the best of both worlds.
yes this happens with boomkins aswell, but i feel like if i can get into melee range i sort of have a chance of pressuring them. with shamans, it just feels like im dead a second later.
boomkins need a nerf too but in the case of shamans, alliance dont get to benefit from them so they should be brought to the same level as paladins
